Hi, i need an advice, i have a GPI pro analog, i´m having some extra cash and i´m looking forward to start upgrading my sled. this is what i am needing for now, Monitor, up grade to a digital and a good reliable hd transmiter, i have beeing on this business for the past 20 years as a camera asistant, but i´m new doing the steadicam, my instinct says, and some budys of mine agree, that if you have the people on the video village happy, you´ll be cool on the set, so i´m pushing for the transmitter, what do you think that i should get first of all??? i have seeing in action the paralinx X and it seemed to me very solid, even more solid than the teradek bolt 600 ("B" Cam. got it working hand held next to me, and loose it quite a bit). As for the monitor i might go for the transvideo rainbow 7, only becose it has both options, i can use it on the sled and out of it, again, as a camera asistant. also, if i don´t do the up grade for now i can still use it analog on the sled. hope some of you can guide me on this and invest in what is best for me right now, cheers from Mexico amigos.

Several Operators have recently purchased Transvideo 5" StarliteHD monitor/recorder for their sleds. Some use it on top of the main monitor as a return monitor/recorder. Having a clear out and thought i'd see if anyone wanted this. Never ended up using it personally, it was always a spare. Not been used in a while but stored safely. Due to it's age i can't guarantee it's 100% functional but worst case scenario it might be useful for spares. The only cable it comes with is a 4 pin lemo. Coming from the UK I'm guessing it's PAL but does anyone know if these were PAL/NTSC switchable? £200 plus postage. Peace & Doves ;)

hey yall i have a smallHD DP7 OLED that went in for repairs a few months (apparently the main board fried out of nowhere) and after paying for that expense it has sat on the shelf for a bit but has seen some use. I used it last week and for the second or third time the Anton Bauer battery attached to the monitor's plate shorted while in use. The battery's display went blank and the monitor shut down. The battery was powering a teradek receiver via ptap and the smallHD via the plate and the included cables. Do yall know what could be causing this? It has for sure happened with different batteries. Id like to send it in to smallHD but it is pretty well in use for the next few weeks. While I dig the monitor and its features, i probably will not purchase another. anyways, any insight would be helpful. have a good one brett.

I just finished a prototype of a small weight plate for the Transvideo RainbowHD7 and RainbowHD7 SBL. I've been using the RainbowHD7 SBL for a little while now and love it particularly for a light running rig, but I've run into a few set ups where it helps to have just a little more weight out in front of the sled. So here is a plate to do simply that. This plate bolts directly to the back of the monitor using Transvideo's locating pins and a 1/4-20 screw. The pins hold it off of the monitor so the monitor still has air flow for cooling. It is centered vertically and horizontally on the monitor to keep the balance centered on a yoke. The bottom of the plate is even with the top of the 4-pin xlr connector, so if you are using a right angle plug it can still fit along the bottom of the monitor under the plate. It is machined out of brass for compact weight and weighs in at 1.25lbs. I'm posting this to see if there are any operators using one of these monitors who would be interested in one of these weight plates. hey yall i just spent 10 days in jamaica shooting with my smallHD DP7 OLED. It worked flawlessly as a field monitor, on camera, rigged up, SDI, HDMI, etc. Not one issue at all. I arrived back stateside and suddenly the monitor wont turn on. I traveled with it in my camera backpack, carry-on, so it was always with me. I am not particularly precious with my gear, but I dont mishandle it. I have attached AB batteries (as I usually power it) as well as AC power. There is no indication at all that it is receiving power. No fans, no screen, nothing. There is no damage to the body. From jamaica i was home, then had to head to austin texas but didnt need the smallHD, so it stayed in the camera bag in my basement. it was pretty cold while i was away, so the basement got cold, but i would bet not below 50. Has anyone experienced this? I am going to talk with smallHD today, but just wonderin if any of yall have had similar experiences. brett.

I'm operating with film first time since two years, after the extinction of film in Turkey. I'm realizing that it is easier to operate with SD video tap. I guess limited picture information on my monitor actually helps me to concentrate on the essentials. Do we really need that much extra resolution while operating which is already a multi task job? Isn't having the extra data that we don't really need most of the time a hindrance?... Any thoughts?
