  1. Hey Everyone, I’m looking into getting a real Steadicam kit for Narrative Work. I currently work mostly as an AC. I also do a decent Camera/Movi/Ronin Operator & Tech for commercials. I have a Zephyr and at the moment that I have been practicing and shooting whatever I get the opportunity to do with that. I plan to buy a Sled, Arm & Vest I can fly real narrative camera packages in the near future. Looking for recommendations from more experienced operators to tell me what they would choose to buy. Sled - Arm & Vest 1. If budget was of no concern? 2. What older used kit they would look for if one was available? Thanks in advance for any help or time you have spent reading/posting here.
  2. I've been opperating since Collage with a rig that has not made "getting the shot" easy. The vest rotates and pulls, the arm is not very articulate and far from isoelastic and the sled, well it's there. It's all I had money for but I've always loved moving cameras and Steadicam is my passion and path in life so I made due with what I had and as a result I was the "go-to Opperator". I'm trying to change all that and break into the professional world so I dug deep in my thin pockets and bought a used rig to hold the heavier cameras (with accesories attached) and mount the camera properly on my back. Here is my current reel which was hard to make because some of the pieces are SD and there's not as much Narrative in there as I wish because of the lack I've gotten back from the "no-budget" productions I've worked on. Please rip it apart and give me tips of the trade, I'm ready to take this thing professional and want to make a name for myself. Thanks a million, happy flying.
  3. Hi Everyone, I'm a new member and an aspiring steadicam op. I'm attending SAE Institute London and currently working on my second year dissertation. As part of my work I need to interview a film industry professional. Since my goal is to become a certified steadicam operator I thought I'd interview someone from this line of work. My supervisor (and steadicam instructor) suggested that I sign up to this forum and see if anyone is available to answer a few questions. In total there are 7 questions. How detailed you want your answers to be is up to you (though some detail is preferable). The criteria is that you need to be an industry professional (not a student) with a few years of experience and must have at least 5 IMDb credits under your belt. If anyone is interested please send me an email to: andrew.fisun@gmail.com and I will send you the questions. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Regards, Andrew
