  1. Hi Everyone, I'm a new member and an aspiring steadicam op. I'm attending SAE Institute London and currently working on my second year dissertation. As part of my work I need to interview a film industry professional. Since my goal is to become a certified steadicam operator I thought I'd interview someone from this line of work. My supervisor (and steadicam instructor) suggested that I sign up to this forum and see if anyone is available to answer a few questions. In total there are 7 questions. How detailed you want your answers to be is up to you (though some detail is preferable). The criteria is that you need to be an industry professional (not a student) with a few years of experience and must have at least 5 IMDb credits under your belt. If anyone is interested please send me an email to: andrew.fisun@gmail.com and I will send you the questions. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Regards, Andrew
  2. Hello everyone. Looking to sell my Steadicam Zephyr. I've had it for just about a year now and it has served me very well. I finished upgrading my gear about two months ago so I'm ready to say goodbye to this one... 12v/HD Sled Zephyr Arm (w/ bag) Compact Zephyr Vest HD Monitor (w/ plexiglass shield) Docking bracket Batteries (2x Gold Mount Switronix) Dual Charger Sled Power Cables BNC Cable F-Bracket (for low-mode) Low-Mode Bracket Merlin weights (for additional weight when working with lighter cameras) Original DVD and Manual Zephyr Sled to XLR 4-pin cable Carrying case for the whole deal (and it has wheels for your back!) Everything is in damn good condition. Very few and very minor scratches, purely cosmetic. Had the gimbal serviced about 9 months ago by Tiffen; works perfectly. The Switronix batteries surprised me with how long they last. I'm looking to get $7,500.00 (+shipping) OBO. I'm located in Winston-Salem, NC and am willing to work out a hand-off for East-Coast residence if you want to save a little cash on shipping. Please feel free to PM me or email me (aaron.gantt@gmail.com) if you have any further questions.
  3. The original Merlin cookbook website is down but I'm not sure if it will help anyway. I can't get my t3i with Canon 18-55mm kit lens to balance. I've read the manual, watched numerous how to's, and i'm still having trouble. Does anyone have the specs for this combo (seems pretty standard)? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  4. Steadicam Master vest leather Vest travel in soft cases More Photos http://www.ipernity.com/doc/341565/23824253/in/album/459511 Price 1800€ OBO Open to offers. Preferable European Union
  5. So as the title implies, I am an owner/ operator who is building his clientel. I've been in LA maybe a year and a half now, and while my list of clients is slowly growing I'd love to have some sort of agent that could get me work. I'd gladly pay 10% to be working more gigs. Most agents only seem remotely interested if an operator has big name features or tv show credits to their name, and I was just wondering if anyone knew any agents that would be good at finding work for someone who is talented enough to get the job done but does not yet hve the connections to get on big shoots. Any advice would be appreciated of course.
  6. Sell my steadicam ultra 2, in very good condition, shipping worldwide. For more information, contact. Thank you!
  7. I bought my Archer II middle of 2013, used it three times and my lower back has previous injuries that I can't seem to overcome. I have the Red Epic power cable with it along with everything it came with and the case and all the manuals. New $30,000 I'm hoping for a quick sale for $24,900 boo. I'll ship anywhere in the continental US. G-50x arm Will text you pics right away 310.487.2000 flint.films@yahoo.com I am in Manhattan
  8. So its been good time now, and im ready to move up to the big rigs. Im flying loaded Alexa, EPIC, 45lb+ set ups weekly, but its a cheap knock off and is not going to cut it any longer. It's time to move up. What would anyone recommend for my first professional sled (with $$$ of course being the #1 factor here). Looking for something with dual AB mounts, 24v, solid LEMO taps for my Bartech and accessories. I'm looking to get a master series arm, and thereby also looking at the master sled (good pricing) but I'm worried it's not modular enough for future upgrades. Or would it be more beneficial to just get one and sell it later one down the road? Thank you.
  9. I'm selling my Steadicam Zephyr for a bigger rig for £8500 Inc VAT 20%. Steadicam in very good condition only used 3 times... DESCRIPTION The Zephyr vest design incorporates adjustable and pivoting shoulder buckles to assure a new comfort level for extended use. New vest and pad covers are easily removed for cleaning or replacement offering extended durability. The tools-free patented Iso-Elastic stabilizer Zephyr Arm has been upgraded from the Steadicam FLYER and supports 23lbs (10.4kg) of payload weight. The no-tools Arm / Vest interface allows for quick customization to the individual operator. “On the fly” weight adjustment frees the operator from dismounting the system to make changes. The open design of the arm has freedom of movement unknown in this weight class. The Zephyr adjustable and interchangeable arm post assembly is a feature usually found on more expensive systems. The Steadicam Zephyr comes standard with a 7 inch, 16:9/4:3 composite NTSC/PAL LCD monitor, or optional 7 inch 16:9/4:3 HD/composite LCD monitor that features enhanced image quality and a wide viewing angle, even under bright sunlight making it ideal for field production use. Input configurations include: Analogue NTSC/PAL Composite/S-Video/Component/RGB and HD/SDSDI (SMPTE-274M, 296M, 260M, 125M) with active loop through. The Zephyr camera mounting stage was designed for enhanced mounting stability with standard HD and composite BNC video connectors, 2 x standard 3-pin LEMO power connectors and expandability ports for future accessories. The stage comes complete with a dual axis vernier adjustable mounting platform and extended camera mounting dovetail plate. The Zephyr Sled Base features extendable rigid aluminum monitor and battery mounting rods, easily removable for compact storage or transport. A single mounting rod release allows for quick set-ups and ease of dynamic and inertial adjustments. PICK UP ONLY (UK) Please feel free to contact me if you require further information. Please see attached photos and plus a heavy duty C-Stand (Heavy Duty Docking Stand) is also included.

  15. STEADICAM FLYER LE FOR SALE - LONDON, UK £3700 + VAT I really can't justify owning two rigs (heavyweight and lightweight) at the moment so this one is up for sale. It is being sold as it was delivered when new, but with custom built focus unit mount included. Does not include batteries. V-Locks required. Kit includes: Vest Flyer LE arm in soft bag Post and gimbal Dovetail plate Stand Docking bracket Monitor (small dead area - very cheap to replace) 3 pin Lemo to XLR cable Allen key for gimbal Original soft case Home made monitor shade (don't get too excited - it's not fancy - but it does work well!!!) Custom built bracket to hold Preston brain. The rig has recently been serviced by Optical Support. Please contact them for confirmation, if required. It is in good condition. There are the usual scuffs that rigs get on the arm etc but nothing performance affecting. As mentioned the monitor has a small dead area on it. I can replace this or knock £200 off the price if you would prefer to replace it yourself. This may be a better option as you can choose one that may suit your purposes better. Send me a message if you're interested.

  18. Hi all, Reluctantly I am letting go of my wonderful Cinema Products Master Steadicam Greenscreen 6" Monitor. Apart from being one of the brightest, highest contrast, sharpest and most easily sunlight viewable monitors ever made, the unit being a CRT phosphor screen is relatively heavy on its own, which has proved extremely useful when you need to add extra weight to the bottom of the rig. It works fine, as seen in the pictures, and comes with a universal mounting plate, illuminated level, and XLR / BNC to Lemo power / video cable. It has controls for vertical height, brightness and contrast, and is so bright I have had to use a hood with it indoors just to avoid it illuminating the talent's face! The monitor is located Wiltshire UK. Very sad to see it go, but needs must. Make me a (sensible) offer! This is NOT an accurate representation of the quality of the picture, which is excellent, but to give you an idea of how bright the monitor is in compared to normal indoor lighting.
