Not much more to say, it's been the most reliable part of my kit forever, I'm only selling as I'm going back-mounted. Happy to ship anywhere in the UK and Europe, or for someone to pick it up from me in West London. Drop me a line for any questions. emilio (dot) film (at) gmail (dot) com. Happy new year, Emilio

  4. Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a steadicam Alexa plate to mount it directly to my zephyr but most companies told me that they made the plates for the "steadicam ultra" sled size. I want to see if anybody knows if the zephyr and the ultra have the same dovetail plate size, if not which plate do you advise for the zephyr? Many Thanks.
  5. Hey Everyone, I'm looking to Sell or Trade my Tiffen Ultra 2 vest. It's seen a good bit of use. It works Perfectly but cosmetically is a little rough. I do love this FM vest, but I'm selling it because I recently purchased a Walter Klassen Flex vest, and it suits my needs better. One issue would be a small piece of the velcro on the left shoulder strap under the shoulder latch that holds the padding on has become frayed over time, it doesn't effect the function of the padding at all however as it's only a small portion of the velcro, and would be a super easy fix. I never bothered as it didn't effect the padding and wasn't enough to cause it to move. I've never had any issues with the socket block, works perfectly. The vest is super comfortable, and can be modified to fit many body sizes. I'm looking to either sell the vest or would like to trade for, or put towards the sale of an HD monitor suitable for steadicam. Maybe you have a backup monitor you're looking to get rid of, or are making the jump to a newer model and are looking to part with an older model. Let me know if this interests you. I'm also willing to work into the deal a TIffen Black Hard Shell case w/ wheels that I used for the vest and arm. The case is in excellent shape and has a dense foam liner inside, with 4 solid case fasteners and lock holes on the outside. Excellent for travel. The exterior moulded shell says Steadicam as part of the casings mold. I also have an extra strap buckle and receiver for the vest that I'll throw in. Currently the vest is in my gear lockup, I'll be there on Tuesday and can take some photos if there's interest. PM if interested!! Thanks for looking. - Ian
  6. Selling my Tiffen Ultra Steadicam with lots of bits and pieces. This rig has served me very well since 2001 and according to Dan Ikeda at Tiffen, it is probably the most updated of the generation 1 Ultras. The battery system has been upgraded to the idx v-mount style and everything works well. Full disclosure, this rig was dropped while in low mode last summer and some damage was sustained. The camera and lens took the majority of the impact but the nose of the top stage was bent slightly downwards. the base of the rig hit the ends of the carbon rods and they seem fine. As it was part of an insurance claim, I had the rig sent to Tiffen for a full disassembly and inspection. They looked over everything, saw only what I saw (the bent nose) and sent it back to me. I powered it up, everything works fine except for the side to side motors in the top stage. They are stuck but I think I can fix it. I have the original Green screen monitor for it as well but haven't used it in years since getting my Transvideo monitor. The CRT was banged up a few years ago, the screen has a crack in it and the magnets on the tube need realigning a circle on the monitor appears slightly ovoid. I have always taken very good care of this rig and I think its cosmetic and mechanical state speak to that, but it was used. A lot. I am happy to discuss at length any questions about the rig, I know there might be trepidation about this but having spent a long time with it since getting it back fro Tiffen, I think it could serve someone very well. If you are in the market for a very affordable rig that can support and power the biggest cinema cameras and lenses, this could be it. For piece of mind, I could ship the rig to Tiffen for another inspection if the buyer was interested. Elsewhere on this forum I am selling an excellent, very clean Tiffen Ultra Arm with 4 posts and a new socket. Could be a match made in heaven (or Burbank) Included with the sled are: lots of spare parts, CRT monitor with 2 cables yoke for Transvideo 6" monitor yoke for any monitor with a 1/4-20 screw mount. 3 camera plates, 2 long, 1 short Antler dovetail mount ( I used this for mounting a Codex Raw Recorder to the bottom of the sled) IDx and Tiffen 24volt battery mounts. 6 Tiffen 24volt batteries (recelled by Emory Soos at Lentequip) with 2 PAG chargers in a hard case. All offers considered. Happy to ship internationally at buyers cost. Gerard Sava gfsava@gmail.com

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me. -Andrew 310-993-0039 aansnick@gmail.com
  8. We have a spare Ultra II vest from an Ultra IIC sled that went with a Walter Klassen setup. It's in great condition. This has never seen a feature or extended production work. Worn maybe a dozen times to supplement some smaller sleds with a nicer vest. We don't own any big sleds now so this has no place with us and needs a new home. Here's a complete detailed review of it: The key block has a couple of small, very light spots on the metal from use (purely minor cosmetics). Couple of minor scuffs on the shoulder latches. No major frays in the fabric, all velcro is solid, the foam has no dents or deformations, and the main chest plate is flawless. This is a great vest for someone looking to save a little but get something in like-new shape. Please reference the photos to see any further details. Includes the bag (slightly dusty from being shelved but never used). Give us a ring or email with any questions: $4000 + Shipping we prefer Paypal but can accept any major credit card. Open to offers or trades. Link to photos on Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/lnyi2dajogy8eqf/Zx4G786lYB CONTACT: 912 Nine Four Four 6111 info AT meddinstudios DOT com Ask for Jason
  9. I was contacted by a fellow steadicam operator who was interested in buying my 24volt Tiffen batteries from my Ultra for his Master series broadcast rig. Has anybody any experience with upgrading a 12volt rig to 24volts? I don't know much about the Master series and would love to forward any advice about this to him. All input is appreciated. Thanks, Gerard Sava

  11. Hi again, Another missing piece to my puzzle. I am looking for a Vest, preferrably of the Ultra or Master variety. I will consider other offers too. Of course I'd love to stumble upon an used PRO vest, but those are never on sale when I'm buying. Thanks and Happy New Year! Mike
  12. I have two arm posts that will work on Ultra Arms & G70 arms. It's got the helical groove that works with the Ultra arm quick release feature... but this will not prevent it from working on G70 arms. I use them on G70 arms with no issues. These are in great condition. Tiffen sells 12" arms posts for $190 each, I'll take $95 each plus shipping.
  13. I am selling my Ultra/Masters Arm that came with my Ultra Package when I bought it from Tiffen in 2004. I have recently had major work done to it - All by Robert Luna. It has had a complete over haul: All New Bearings, New Cables, 2 new Elbow Brackets (Luna design - much sturdier than originals) and new set of Eye bolts (all this work done in the last 2-3 months) and a New Luna Titanium Socket block adapter (new 2 years ago) its not the tools free version, but it wont break like my tools free did either. Cosmetically I'd say she's maybe a 8.5 or 9. Includes: - three arm Posts - a 6", 10", 15", a tool operated post ring, a tool-less post ring - Rain Cover set - Arm Bag Asking $9500 Tom Schnaidt TJS10@mac.com 917-208-5644 Arm is currently in Los Angeles. Pictures will post over the weekend...
