  1. Good day! Just got my first sled, and i'm super happy with it! I do however have a bit of an odd problem (or maybe it isn't and i'm just a newbie ((most likely)) The guy i purchased it from has an older Canon C300, which i have used as a practice camera for a while. I wanted to put my own camera on the sled, but this is where my problems began. My camera is an A7IV, which i've weighed down with a v-mount battery and a practice cage. To get signal down to my monitor, i'm having to use a blackmagic micro 3G HDMI-SDI converter. Now if i connect directly to my monitor from the converter, the signal is fine nomatter the output resolution of the camera. However, when i try to go via the internal SDI in my sled, the signal will only work with 1080 interlaced, and even then, the signal is quite glitchy. The sled has three HD-SDI connectors, which to my knowledge should be able to output 1080 25P? I have tried to configure the blackmagic converter, but my choices are only Level A or Level B, none of which work. The sled is a Glidecam X-45 (it has been upgraded in several ways, but the internal wiring is still the same). The monitor is a 702 Touch. TLDR; My sleds internal SDI cables will only output a glitchy interlaced signal, despite being capable of progressive(?)
  2. Hello, How difficult/ what is the process for re-wiring a Master series sled to support HDSDI? Maybe even swap out the 4 pin HiROSE to be all 2 pin LEMOs and throw on another Aton plate to the front of the K section too. I plan on keeping this sled for a few years so upgrading it is not a option, just wanted to try and bring it up-to-date. It all seams like a challenge over my head, is there anyone to be recommended for this in the LA area? Trying to know what i am getting into before I make the first step. Thanks.
  3. Hello guys, I decided to make a little mod on my Ultra2 and before I go ahead I’d like to have some input from U2 owners. I want to get rid of the upper monitor mount on the post3 in order to be able compress the rig another 3 inches or so. Since I bought my rig last June I never used the upper mount. In normal use, I place the monitor as down as possible. Even when I setup the rig to the extreme high or low mode the upper mount never seemed useful to me as it places the monitor too up high to my taste. But when I fly lighter loads like an epic, not being able to shorten the rig another 3 inches translates to either less space to move the gimbal down on post2–harder to go to low mode- or too much space above it. Also when I put a codex or OBI-1 deck at the base of the sled while shooting Alexa/Raw setups, the up-down weight ratio forces me to collapse the rig fully and every inch counts! Even if an unpredicted situation presents itself, I can have another 15cm or so to raise the monitor by placing the monitor rods in reverse. In order to take the mount out I have to undo the wires in the stage which is not an everyday job. That’s why I’d like to hear your input on the subject. Do you use the upper mount? In which situations?
