  1. ,Hi everyone, I am currently on a shooting a series that is 55 days long, I am operating as A cam and Steadicam cam and we are around 3 weeks in and they keep using the steadicam as a tripod quite often since it takes around 15 minutes to switch from steadicam to tripod and it's starting to affect my back. Has anyone had an experience like this before and how did you handle it. Cheers Omar
  2. Hello, I'm Quaid Cde Baca, a camera operator out of LA. Primarily a camera operator working on narratives and a newbie steadicam op, I also camera operate for Larry King Now, and am an editor for a Rolling Stone feature documentary. I will be in Ireland for 3 weeks July 20 - August 10. I would love to jump on a project as a PA or to at least help out in anyway to become familiar with the film industry in Ireland (with aspirations to make a move out to the UK for to wor)k. Will anyone will be in the area at the time? I would love to help out on set or buy you a drink and talk about film and camera/ steadicam stuff. Thank you for your time, Quaid Cde Baca +1(949) 412-7153 Quaidcdebaca.com
  3. Not sure if this is the right place to post so please let me know if it should be place somewhere else. (First topic post) I am located in Washington, DC and wanted to see if anyone out there is looking for an assistant on their steadicam projects. As much as I want to attend the SOA workshop in Philly, I don't have $2600 to invest right now. If it is the right opportunity where I can learn a lot, I'm willing to travel. I bought the Steadicam Operator's Handbook and have learned a lot but learn a lot better when onset and hands on. If anyone has recommendations to who I could contact or even if you would like an assistant please let me know. When I started learning how to light, operate a camera and 'see the room', being on set is where I learned the most. On a side note, if anyone can recommend other workshops on the East Coast that are not as expensive as the SOA, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
