Premium Members Bernat Suñé i Trepat Posted October 25, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 25, 2010 Hi, in my last jobs I sweated a lot, and the cushions of the vest are quite, how to say it... dirty, not filthy....and I want to clean them up in the washing machine, is it good for the cushion or is it a bad idea? thanks
Moderators Janice Arthur Posted October 26, 2010 Moderators Report Share Posted October 26, 2010 Bernat; Not sure what vest you have but assuming just foam inside it here is what you do. Pull out the pads, usually just velcroed into the plastic. (Make a mental note of which goes where, it is a little scary for a moment to put them back if you don't.) Handwashing is the key. Run something full of cold water, add little detergent, (small amount)wash them repeatedly and squeeze out the excess. Usually the water gets black (fabric dye and dirt). After a couple of washings, rinse, hand wring them and lay them in the fresh air to dry. Done.
