Premium Members Marc R. Berger Posted September 12, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 12, 2013 Just saw this very exciting announcement at Transvideo. Could someone visiting IBC this year give a short review about their new products please? Thank you, Marc

Premium Members JobScholtze Posted September 13, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 13, 2013 I have seen it today. And while its a great monitor with great options there are a few things that bothered me a bit. Image size is the same as my older hd6. The screen isnt water proof, so it still needs a rain cover, same for the knobs on the monitor. I believe that every steadicam monitor needs to be water proof so you dont need a rain cover. And as last, i think its a bit to expensive. But thats my opinion
Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted September 14, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 14, 2013 How was the visibility?
Premium Members JobScholtze Posted September 14, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 14, 2013 It was good in any angle. But for the rest it didnt look so different with the one i have now. Perhaps outside it das, but that isnt a problem now. Glare is mostly the issue, i wonder if you ever gonna need 2000 nits. Waterproof is what we need
Premium Members Thomas English Posted September 14, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 14, 2013 Waterproof is my most important consideration. There are a lot of modern LCDs that can be seen in most conditions but there is only the TB6 that can be seen on a bright rainy day under covers. Cinetronic is waterproof and doesn't need covers and currently works for me. Jaques has threatened to make available versions of his monitors that are waterproof but as far as I know this hasn't happened yet. That would be exciting. Premium Members Osvaldo Silvera SOC Posted September 14, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 14, 2013 Transvideo also came out with a super slim 5" HD/SDI OLED monitor which records on an SD card, great for a program monitor for the Live guys, but a bit pricey at the moment. it's like 1600+ Euro!! Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted September 15, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 15, 2013 I think the price is reasonable, because it includes the virtual horizon 2. So it's only about 600 euro more for the 2000nits version.

Premium Members Osvaldo Silvera SOC Posted September 16, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 16, 2013 That thing ( 5" Starlite HD) just sounds very sweet! I have the Super bright Starlite SD 4" which rocks for a program monitor outside. So this will be the upgrade this winter hopefully.
Premium Members Marc R. Berger Posted September 16, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 16, 2013 Thank you Jens for the pictures and infos. Is the Virtual Horizon 3 compatible with the Cine HD classic monitors, or only the Evolution´s?
