Oliver Roetz
Chris, enjoy the mountains...! And thanks for the quick response. No, not the socket block. I mean the front / rear rod length clamps - the rods are sliding like crazy. Over a 3 hour operating period the vest does get about 5-7cm longer. Now get back to the nice mountain view...;-) Oliver
Premium Members chris fawcett Posted December 8, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 8, 2014 Oliver, Thanks! Try tightening the nylock nut behind the rod clamps by an ⅛ turn, then see if it clamps better. We had this problem once before with a very muscular guy who is almost V shaped, so there was nothing to stop the waistband from sliding down. We're working on a complete fix for this right now, but let me know if the tightening helps. I'll be back in civilisation on Wednesday, so we could Skype or FaceTime. Oliver Roetz
Chris, I got some imperial tools from Christian Betz today (thanks so much!!! Why isn't there anything included in the package???) and played around a little bit. I tightened up the nylock nut as well - so it should be working. I'll be leaving thursday for a job in Myanmar / Laos until christmas so there should be plenty of opportunities to test it. Thanks, Oliver
Premium Members chris fawcett Posted December 10, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 10, 2014 Oliver, Lucky you on the job. Have a lot of fun out there. Yes, you're right. I guess Americans assume that everyone has access to imperial tools; it's an assumption I've been guilty of myself. Let us know how it goes out there. All feedback is useful, negative too! All the best, Chris
Premium Members James Davis Posted December 16, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 16, 2014 Wowwwwww is all I can say, mine turned up last week and I did my first proper job in it today. Comfort, Endurance and Control like no other vest out there!
Premium Members Peter Abraham Posted December 16, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 16, 2014 I've been using one almost as long as Chris, and I may have more hours logged in it than anyone else. It continues to be a source of delight comfort and precision. In the heat of summer time, it is wonderful to enjoy how much heat shedding I get to do in this vest.
