Hey Artemis owners,

thinking about finally investing in a Volt. I own an Artemis 1 with 1.8" Post and generally like my sled, but the cost of buying Arri's Volt post for around 2500k seems insane. It looks like they just grounded of a few mm of the 1.8" post and sell them as 1.74" Volt post. My question is now, does anyone know someone in Europe who did this or maybe can point me in a direction which kind of workshop would do these kind of things? (Maybe Arri does this as well.......?) I'm giving free reign to my thoughts. Maybe it's a really bad idea in general, but I hate how everything in the camera/steadicam world just costs more by a hugh factor - especially Arri.

I guess nobody wants to buy an old 1.8" post so, investing in a new one would leave me with the old one sitting on the shelf.

	Thanks y'all.

I'm trying to figure out how to DIY this or find someone that works on posts to help me. I have a Video SK2 and the bnc doesn't support HD signals since it is so old. I already flipped the polarity of the lemo out so it doesn't fry any accessories I plug in up top, but i'm wondering if anyone has any guidance on replacing the BNC line running down the post.

Or if anyone knows anyone that could do this for me, that would be great too!

I'm also wondering if there is a place I can buy an additional post segment as i'd like to get a little bit more length on as well. Any help would be appreciated!

	I'm looking to (ideally)

Run super thin HDMI cable down the post internally (as others have done)

Replace/upgrade power wiring to allow me to place a d-tap splitter on the top stage (again as others have done) and replace vmount plate

I have no interest in attempting this myself, however I am very willing to pay someone to do the job for me. Obviously will supply parts needed and pay for postage and work.

Hi all, I have some doubts of which center post diameter to choose.

As far as I know there are the following post:
2" ( Mk-v , XCS)
1,89" ( Betz tools, Artemis)
1,75" ( tiffen M1, among others)
1, 58" (tiffen M2, among others)
1,5 ( Gpi pro, among others)

As some of the brands due it´s modularity have the posibility to choose which diameter post it fits you. I would like to know the important things to you to have in mind before to choose one or another.

I know that some of you prefer thicker center post because it give you "more control" in your hands, others operators do not.

I know the Volt system it fits in center post up to 1,75". But Betz tools has adapted in their sled RIG of 1,89" so that matters to choose one or another.

I know that the thicker center post are less flexible so less vibration on bigger cámera packagges. But how big has to be a camera packagge to be a point breaker to choose a 1,75" over a 1,58" post, or another?

Any has found that his/her sled diameter center post has been an issue? Did you have that day that you say: Damm I should had choosen a thicker sled...or Damm I should have choosen a thinner one.. and Why?

Thanks in advance for your time and help.
Angel Goday.

I am trying to build a long center post for my Sted. The main issue is to find the circular threaded connector male & female, like in the picture below. I am not necessarily looking for the Lemo, but the black circular connector.

I have tried several manufacturer, but I can't find it. Is there anybody who got an idea ?

Hello,

I'm new to the form here. Decided to join given the limited information I've found elsewhere.

As the title suggests I'm flying a GH2 on a Pilot and I really need to figure out something for monitoring. For those not familiar with the GH2, while recording it ONLY has HDMI out. As opposed to the Canon DSLR's which have a composite option. Also, for some reason unknown to me the GH2 HDMI will not work with an HDMI to analog converter. I have no first hand experience with this, but from what I've read elsewhere it seems to have the same problem as the composite output (which is that it will only display an image during playback - not during recording).

Yes, I know they're coming out with an HDMI version of the Pilot, but it's not available yet and I already have this one which is otherwise working just fine. So, what I'd like to do is run an HDMI cable through the center post. I know of one guy who has done this successfully and here is the link to his video:

However, it's fairly unclear to me what he has actually done, and although I have posted a comment on his video - I've not heard back from him yet.

Has anyone else done this modification?

I'm able to get the cable through the bottom end of the post, but the top end is proving to be more difficult. The guy with the video above says he ground something to make it fit. If possible, I'd like to avoid that - but if it's the only option I'm not afraid to give it a whirl. I think if I were able to remove the stage from the top, I would be able to pass the HDMI cable through the composite port that is already there, and then put it back together. I'm having difficulty removing the stage as it is not only the four screws that hold it in place, but also the side to side adjustment bolt.

I'd appreciate any help someone may have to offer.

Thanks

	Hello all,

I have an EFP rig with a 1.5" MK-V post, monitor mount, and battery hanger, with every other piece being EFP (gimbal, topstage, electronics).

I'd like to switch out the center post as it is rather long, and had a compatibility question. I know the 4-hole pattern is standard for most center posts/topstages, however I don't know how the lower electronics mount to the center post or if the diameter of the inner tube of the center post is standard so I may be able to use my monitor mount on another center post as it is clamped onto the inner tube.

Are there any specific measurements I should be looking for, or will most 1.5" center posts work with my current components?

	Thanks!

Added: Outright getting a new sled may be an option in the farther future, unless I find myself in a Theseus situation.
