Ted Churchill Demo Tape

Hi All,

Waaaaay back in 1987(?)....... I received a copy of a Ted Churchill demo from Victor Duncan. Well, after some clean'n and straight'n, I came acrossed it recently and tried to watch it. It is 20 years older (as am I) and we are both begining to show it (me a lot grey'er, the tape more drop out).

So I had it transferred to DVD and it's good as new. Through various software programs, I've tried to compress it (with no luck) so that I may share it with you all.

If anybody has any ideas, I'd be happy to try, so that you can enjoy it with me.

Cheers,

Bud Kremp

Bud,

If you want I can encode the material into several resolutions for web viewing and/or download. Give me a shout at 604-788-6777 or we converse via email... andrew@electricstone.com

I effectively have unlimited bandwidth on my website so I can post it as well, if required.

All for a good cause...

Try Handbrake (http://handbrake.fr/), which can convert the DVD to a web-ready file. Word has it that's what Afton's minions use.

The word I hear is that this word is correct. I have heard Afton01 speak of many applications used for this purpose in the past, but Handbrake has proven to be one of the best so far, with the fewest number of steps between DVD and file.

Another alternative is to create a file backup of the DVD. Most disk burning software will have the ability to create a "disk image" or ISO file for backup purposes. With this, you could upload the ISO file (instead of snail-mailing the actual disk) so that someone, perhaps at Steadishots.org, could download it and create the necessary files for you. Feel free to contact any of the Aftons for further assistance.

Cheers,

Afton04
