Baer-Bel makes them. Very nice plate, no more play.

Yes it's this :

I don't know for which Stage it is intended (looks like it's for the PRO) and I don't know the price...

I know that Chrosziel did the same kind of plates to be used with a Master series Sled as it would fit directly on the stage.

Arriflex are also making a nice thin plate but you still have to clamp your dovetail under.

Wow! Thanks for all the responses. Hmmm... I didn't think it was just me with this problem...

The Baer-Bel one looks pretty cool, but where is the quick release? I don't see any lever? Would it work with a nose plate and rod combination like the Chrosziel combo?

What I need is a quick but secure option for those run and gun video jobs where you have to throw it from the steadi to the sticks and back again. The Chrosziel plate looks pretty solid, but that's a lot of money for a plate.

Chris, your plate looks great. Do you have a copy of the measurements somewhere you can share with all of us?

Perhaps this can be note for the other handy camera machinists out there that we need a solid but reasonably-priced quick-release plate for the steadi world.

What amazes me daily is that there is a never ending supply of widgets and cables to drain my disposable income.

Ah... disposable income... how I miss thee...

Thanks all,

Brett

Brett,

I'd be happy to, but I just gave a camera to the machinist, and let him measure it. It's really simple.

Job,

I like the look of the BB plate. How does the camera attach? Is it still a quick release?

As an inventor, I am interested in this, which appears to be an important need to have filled. It looks like most of these brackets are just too complicated in design to work effectivly over long periods.

Tell me, what specifications would you want in the "perfect" bracket?

I can start this off with:

lightweight

quick release

firm hold

reasonably inexpensive

This seems like a good puzzle for me.

All I can say: I was one of the first ones to try out the baer-bel one and I have never used anything else since then!!It comes with 2 detachable 15mm rods and it works like a charm!BTW,since it is fixed with 2 scews there's no play at all!Perfect!!

PS: It works with a lot of stages i.e. Master, baerbel,PRO,Chrosziel, etc!!

Hello,

did a search. But couldn't find anything. Maybe because I'm not 100% sure what the item is called outside Norway. It's about the camera plate for 2/3" video cameras. So if there is such a topic here, please guide me to it.

This is the issue;

I've had some problems when shooting 2/3" video. The damn camera plate that attaches under the camera, it's never 100% stable.

So when I've got fast running shots and the like, the camera will get a shaky look due to this.

Has anyone experienced this, and come up with a good solution?

Hey Lars!

Chroziel make a great camera plate- it's bloody expensive (£400-£500 if memory serves) but it'll lock any sony/panasonic camera good and proper- without any vibration. In fact I think I'm gonna go order one today; very handy!

Here is a picture of it... will post when I fgure out where to get one from.

EDIT: Just found this on ebay for you US types- expensive for what you get! http://cgi.ebay.com/CHROSZIEL-401-120-QUIC...6QQcmdZViewItem

Hi,

i just got my baer-bel Sony Plate through the post. Only took 2 days to get to me (German to UK)

I honestly have to say that its a great plate. There is no play or movement of any kind when you lock your digi down tight.

Takes no time at all to fit and its light as a feather.

Great to fly with!
