Premium Members chris fawcett Posted August 16, 2010 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted August 16, 2010 I used the camwave on a feature today. The shoot was in the woods. The shot required the segway and the distance was a bit more than 20 meter from video village. The camwave was useless. Back to the drawingboard i guess. Hey Job, If you want to test drive my Titan HD, I don't need it for the next two weeks. All the best, Chris
Marco Padoan
Hi! Just talked to Transvideo. Great service, great people. And I have rented it, will rent it for two more weeks for a TV-talkshow-gig. Then if everything works good I will buy the Titan HD. The TV-prod- runs to december. Just figured out with help from Transvideo how to get the tally working. Very happy because of the helping hand from Transvideo! Bye all! Marco Padoan
an update (if anyone is wondering about the tally on the Titan HD. If anyone have any info about the tally, please tell me, I´m trying to get it working!) : The tally sends from the Rx to the Tx via the GPIO-input/output. To be able to do that you must have upgraded the software on the TitanHD to version 1.07 or higher. In my case, since I´m still renting the device; the rental-company haven´t done the upgrade. And to be able to do the upgrade one must first make a firmware-upgrade witch is only done in France at transvideo. Hope to get it working soon. First rehersal on Wednesday! All the best!/Marco
Premium Members chris fawcett Posted September 16, 2010 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 16, 2010 Hi Marco, You can do both firmware and software upgrades yourself. You'll need a PC, or Windows on your Mac (Bootcamp, Fusion, Parallels) to do it, but it's no big deal if you are a little computer savvy. I can send you the upgrades if you like. Email me through my website, below. All the best, Chris

Premium Members Thomas K. Jensen Posted November 14, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 14, 2010 Hello Chriss and anyone who's had some experience with the Transvideo Titan HD. I tested The Boxx Meridian a half year ago, and now I want to invest in a Wireless system that I can use for both video assist and for Live broadcast. And it seems like the Transvideo Titan HD has the options i need, for less than TheBoxx. Are there anyone, who have used the system for live broadcast, and how did you set it up? Somewhere on The Transvideo website it says that the system does "GPI transmission for tally or static controls" What does static control" mean? And how do you use the RS232 data connection for CCU work? I am aware that it's not a full blown Wireless system, but if we can make it work with some small bits and pieces, then I would be more than happy. Thanks Thomas Kollerup Jensen
Premium Members chris fawcett Posted November 14, 2010 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted November 14, 2010 Hi Thomas, I don't do live broadcast. You should P.M. Hervé. Here are a couple of his posts on the subject: http://www.steadicam...indpost&p=53966 http://www.steadicam...indpost&p=54014 Though I can tell you something about the robustness of the construction (as well as the signal). With the Rx high on a stand, an AC tripped over the video cable bringing it crashing to the ground. The housing got gouged, but it still works perfectly. I know that the Transvideo products are really robust. But good that your unit didn't die because of the fall. I'll reed the thread again, but I don't recall reading any answers regarding the iris control or RS232 data connection. And I'll try PM Hervé. Premium Members chris fawcett Posted November 14, 2010 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted November 14, 2010 Hi Thomas, I think you should ring Transvideo directly with your question. They are very helpful. And I'd like to hear the results of your enquiry. All the best, Chris
Premium Members Thomas K. Jensen Posted February 11, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 11, 2011 So I received the TitanHD to test. And I'm very impressed with the image quality. Did a six-hour live Production (3-cam) in and on an ice-stadium. And it did really great. But I noticed a green line in the bottom of the Screen. It's no problem when you're using it for monitoring only, but when you are using it for live / live on tape, it might be a problem. Has any of you seen this? I only Got the standard antennas, and when outside, I get some glitches - nothing much, but enough, so that I can't use it on a live show outside. And have you tested the system with the five-array of hi-gain antennas? How much more coverage do you get with those?
Premium Members chris fawcett Posted February 12, 2011 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted February 12, 2011 Hi Thomas, Sorry, can't be any help here. Never seen that green line you mention, and so far have just used the standard antennae. If you get the high-gain set, I'd like to know how you get along.
