Premium Members Kevin Andrews SOC Posted December 11, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 11, 2009 Thanks for the pics Amando. I will be working with the 7D soon as well. Premium Members Mike Germond SOC Posted December 11, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 11, 2009 Lovely 1/8" AV jack on those cameras. I've delt with it so much that I finally chopped my own cable down to a more managable 1ft length.
Premium Members Mike Germond SOC Posted December 11, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 11, 2009 (edited) For some reason, it won't let me edit the above post.. Â So upon further research, I stand corrected. The 7D made some negative progress and introduced a proprietary "digital out" jack like so: Â Â Positive progress on the HDMI. Who wants to be the first to introduce that on their J-box Edited December 11, 2009 by Mike Germond

Did you find any major issues?  Hi Charles!. I´ve the idea to do a heavy plate (3-4 Kg.)...But this configuration worked so well.... ;) . Antlers increases inertial pan and it´s very comfortable to work. I´ll post news about this as soon as I do it.

Premium Members Peter Schmehl Posted December 11, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 11, 2009 Hey guys, Â I was actually about to work with a Canon 5D tomorrow for RED Bull, but we changed the setup to a SONY HDW 750. Anyways, I had to think about shooting with it as well, so I thought of my Sushi-Server Low-mode cage from Baer-Bel with a weight plate that I had made for the cage to act as a weightcage. But the antler idea is fantastic, to give it more stiffness. The only problem seems to be the one screw on the Canon that is not enough to stabilize the camera for torsion of the remote focus motor. But I was told there is also a solution for it. They`ve made a certain frame to make the camera rigid. Â Do you guys think there is a future for this kind of recording? I personally dont think so. I personally dont think so.  Peter You don't need anything for the body of the camera... A good rail system will alleviate that problem. If the matte box isn't enough to hold the lens steady, then use a lens stiffener that basically uses a ring to attach the lens to the rail system. That bypasses the issue of that one single screw at the bottom of the camera. Every company that I've come across who makes the rail systems also makes the lens stiffener as well. There is definitely a future for the small form-factor cameras... Lenses themselves haven't gotten much smaller, but these days it's technically possible to get a 13-stop dynamic range camera body in such a tiny size, so... Premium Members Charles Papert Posted December 12, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 12, 2009 I've done a few shoots with the 5D and the 1D and haven't had a problem with the Preston motor pushing the camera body around. 5D and 7D have a hole in the bottom for attaching the battery base--unfortunately in different positions on each, lovely. As indicated, manufacturers like Redrock do have plates that work with these.
