robert_kunz
good morning guys, I own an old modified video sk rig from the 90's that I use a lot as a running rig with modern lightweight cameras (canon 5d/7d) etc. my cheeseplate got lost while shipping and I desperately need a replacement.manufacturing a new one will be about 1200€ an will take weeks! Is there someone out there who owns spare parts(cheeseplate) for this ancient rig and would sell this item? thanks for your help, robert
Premium Members Fabrizio Sciarra SOC ACO Posted May 12, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 12, 2010 1200 euro for a cheeseplate? :o Sounds "a bit" overpriced....where did you ask? Boeing? Maybe a phone call at Steadicam offices may help you out, or in worse case scenario ask at some other places in order to have a new one machined, I'm sure you won't spend more than couple of hundreds for a nice work. Where are you based? Hope you'll find a second hand here on the forum, if not let us know where you're based, somebody will chime in to suggest you a place where to do it for a reasonable price. Good luck

Good luck thanks fabrizio, I'm based in berlin, the guy that told me the price ist the owner of the metalshop who works for my favourite rental house..... he told me it will be 3 days work to machine the whole thing, therefore this price. boeing would have been cheaper ;-) rob
RobinThwaites
Hi Robert I assume we are talking about the camera dovetail plate? If so the current Flyer dovetail will fit, part number is 601-7412 and list price $350.00. Contact me in England for a Euro landed price on my desk e-mail robin.thwaites@tiffen.com as that will probably be easier than ordering from the factory in California.
