Premium Members Fabrizio Sciarra SOC ACO Posted May 31, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 31, 2010 A video top as per most film cameras should do the job and cut off all the weight of the optical finder. Don't forget to ask for it. Hope it helps F
Premium Members Lawrence Karman Posted May 31, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 31, 2010 You should ask for the "100 percent video top" which will allow you to replace the not very heavy optical viewfinder and supply you with a low mode bracket as well. Premium Members brooksrobinson Posted May 31, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 31, 2010 Like Doc said, make sure to get the 100% video top - this lets you lose the eyepiece and optical block. Also make sure to get the 400’ steadicam mags (not the regular 400’ ones), and the low-mode bracket. Make sure they also get you a clip-on mattebox and you’ll be good to go. Premium Members Luciano Reverberi Posted June 1, 2010 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted June 1, 2010 thanks so much for the advice guys but I dont gonna be able to get the 100% video because the production company that I work with own the cameras and they never worked with steadicam before so they just have the accesories for shouder mount only. by the way we are in the philipines shooting so we can no rent it. im pretty much fucked hahaha, but is ok we are shooting in 2 weeks that scene so I will star training and carrie the camera like it is. over 30 pounds and I weight 156 p. one other question if I take the whole video and eye piece out I dont gonna have any plug for my monitor right? thanks
Premium Members Sanjay Sami Posted June 1, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 1, 2010 Luciano, The camera is really quite light, even with the optical block intact.I am not sure about the exact weight, but I don't think you need to be overly concerned .It balances very nicely and is ( I think) one of the lightest sync 35mm cameras around. I think you will enjoy working with it. Sincerely Sanjay Sami
