Premium Members Kar Wai Ng Posted February 27, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 27, 2011 After looking in the catalogue, it looks like if the original straight connector as stated in the other thread is S 105 Z087-130+, then the right-angle version pointing to the right would be WSO 105 Z087-130 -3H. WSO denotes a right-angle body style, the -3H suffix denotes a 3 o'clock orientation.
Premium Members Ramon Engle Posted February 28, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 28, 2011 Thanks Kar. Now if I can get any of the fischer distributors to sell me 4 of these. I can't get any of the fischer distributors to sell me the connectors because I don't order 100 pieces. If anybody has a contact let me know. Thanks again Kar. Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted February 28, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 28, 2011 Call Terry West. Maybe he can make you the cable you need or at least send you the connector -- he has a shiite ton of connectors.
Sean Jensen
Hey Ramon I had a short right angle cable built for the job I just finished. I was flying the CamWave on the camera and wanted to power the camera through my PRO2. Six weeks lead time for the right angle connector. Not a popular connector and NOT cheap. The cable cost me over $350 and that was a good price from a friend. It might be different now because the Alexa is really popular. Get on it ASAP. Good Luck Sean
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted February 28, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 28, 2011 Another option is to have a cable made without the back housing of the connector, just a big hunk of shrinkwrap. Terry West made me one of these years ago for the large Panavision connector, it's much smaller and lighter (and right angle) and you can use the innards of the standard connector (I think). Sounds klugy but it weathered perfectly well, he had it all figured out so that it was nice and rugged.
Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted February 28, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 28, 2011 FYI: IDX also makes a 1cm spacer for the CAMWAVE or this one... http://www.abelcine.com/store/Switronix-V-Mount-Battery-Pass-Through-Plate/
Premium Members Lawrence Karman Posted March 21, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 21, 2011 Does anyone know the Fischer Part # for the 2pin power connector for the Alexa. I know its the same as the stardard 24volt Arri connector. I need a right angle version to fit in the Alexa and not interfere with the Camwave. Thanks I ran into this issue the other day.Got around it by using an Anton Bauer Gold Mount to V-lock adapter plate in between the camera Gold Mount plate and the WEVI HD transmitter. Created just enough clearance for the transmitter to clear my straight 2 pin Fischer plug. I keep one in my kit. Whew! Got to order up a rt angle connector just in case. First time flying the Alexa and I must say it is SWEET.
Premium Members Richard W. Davis Posted March 21, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 21, 2011 FYI: IDX also makes a 1cm spacer for the CAMWAVE or this one... http://www.abelcine.com/store/Switronix-V-Mount-Battery-Pass-Through-Plate/ I am not a fan of the Switronix V mount adapters as they are very heavy for what they are. IDX AB to V mount plate much lighter , not much more money. I don't know if IDX has a pass through as suggested here by Jens.
