Premium Members Benjamin Treplin Posted January 24, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 24, 2011 Thanks to Charles for inspiring this with his sled to P-Tap solution. This breakout cable would be most interesting for XCS Ultimate owners due to the sleds ability to supply 12 Volt and 24 Volt all the time. This box solves the hassle of supplying 12V and 24 V at the same time to the numerous accessories on 12V cameras like the RED and F35 . It helped me uncounted times to replace the whole RED power supply with just that box. Saving weight on onboard batts/cradles, get rid of cumbersome wiring and leaving remote focus, cinetap and video transmitter in place. It’s a perfect replacement for the 24V power supply at the F35 in Steadicam mode. I think with the new Epic and Scarlet, it will come in handy just as well. Provided that there is a demand in such a box I could make a run. It will be around 250 Euro / 340 Dollar. Features: 1x PowerTap 12V 3 x Arri RS 24V 1 x Arri RS male Start/Stop loop through Let me know.
Premium Members Robert Starling SOC Posted January 24, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 24, 2011 My XCS Ultimate 1 already has multiple 12/24v simultaneous outputs. Are you saying you are running into situations where you need more that what a D-Tap can provide or that this is just another alternative? Premium Members Benjamin Treplin Posted January 24, 2011 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted January 24, 2011 It is an alternative to handle an existing power supply infrastructure be it 12V or 24V with just one cable. Especially when dayplaying. Every camera rental has different setups and solution. Some wrangle all acc. over D-Taps other have 24V converters in a modified battery mount to run all their 24V Arri acc.. I don't have to worry anymore about what they will throw at me this time. The Start/Stop loop through is mainly for the F35. I haven't used it on other cameras so far. Benjamin
