robert weldoff
Hi All i have been operating for about 2 yrs now and i find that my threads are changing. perhaps my waist is slimming down :P or im getting fatter  but in Jerrys dvd he says that they will change as you get better/posture improves etc :) im hoping this is the case!!! is there a way/trick too check your threads in the field? or when at home practicing? i adjusted side to side 2 wks ago (2turns) and now again side to side (1/2 turn) it amazes me what a difference it makes to the feel of the sled and how it affects operating. do you guys stand in your operating position and check? or do u stand with weight on both feet and then check? thanks all
Joseph Stunzi
I have a picture of it somewhere saved, but I've seen operators attach guitar volume knobs to their threads so they can always get an accurate setting each and every time. Obviously not as big of an issue if you're the only one using your vest... but pretty cool mod none the less and super cheap to do.
Premium Members chris fawcett Posted June 9, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 9, 2011 Check your posture in a reflection from time to time. With the rig flying in perfect balance in operating position, and the vest located correctly on your body, you should be standing upright, leaning neither left nor right. Adjust side-to-side to achieve that. Now check your reflection from the side. The centre of your shoulder should be above the centre of your pelvis. Adjust fore–aft for that. If I used volume controls, I'd just turn them up to 11. Chris
Premium Members Ants Martin Vahur Posted June 9, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 9, 2011 I change quite constantly fore/aft adjustment, usually when I'm changing the length of the vest. Still in the range of a few threads though. I very often fine tune between takes also, while wearing the rig- I loosen the bottom screw a bit, then swing the rig behind me and tighten the top screw- or vice versa. I almost never change the side to side adjustment though. Only for going to the hard mount and back to the soft mount (vest). If I feel that it should be side to side adjusted when soft mounted, I check that the vest fits me perfectly, as it gets tilted sometimes if not buckled properly and then I just readjust my vest and it's fine again. For me on soft mount the side to side is lower bit- 1/2 turns out and top bit is about 4 and a 1/2 turns out. AntsMartin
