Oh jeez, I may not get that Marshall then if it seems like its burning out is inevitable... Should I risk it? Or any suggestions for monitors in that sub 2k price range? I'd ideally love the DP7HB but 3k is wayyyyy out of my league at the moment D:

I've had the Zephyr for a little over a month. I've had a Merlin 2 for about a year. I went to the 2 day workshop in October and had a chance to work with the Zephyr there before buying one. I really like it. I have had some monitor issues with the Steadicam version of the Marshall V-LCD70XHB-3G-SDI. Within a couple of weeks, the HD-SDI port stopped working. The analog video still worked. Steadicam sent me a replacement really fast. The new monitor (same model) is kind of strange. The HD-SDI syncs up very well in the beginning, but then after about 20 minutes when the monitor has warmed up, I have to power it off and on again to resync with the camera when I go between menu modes on the camera. Has anyone else had these issues? Other than the monitor, everything else is great! I'll get some pictures of setup soon.

Also one quick note. I have been told by the guys over at Marshall to plug the monitor prior to powering the camera etc. and to be careful not to have your BNC connected to the monitor touching the ground when building the rig. The thing we are trying to avoid is a static discharge to the sensitive board.

I know it's not a solution but if you can be careful it might let your monitor live a bit longer.

There is no benefit of having this sled with a stronger arm. The center post being thinner than the standard 1.5 in it start vibrating when it gets overloaded a bit. Besides, the socket block and the gimbal post are smaller than the norm. Thant is why Tiffen sells the sled with the arm+vest as a package.

I'm from Spain and owner operator of a zephyr.

Wear with almost three years and each time I am more happy with the rig

It's my first rig and with which I have been slowly discovering and learning the profession

At first I was a little scared because I did not know where I could get up capacity rig and now I can say it's amazing

as much as I've been flown to the sony 900r with matebox and follow focus and note that the rig does not suffer if it is true that this was their limit

Sorry about my English

Reviving an old thread to see if anyone has experienced issues with the Trim controls for their Zephyr.

I work with students; we have three Zephyr rigs, two of them brand new. The trim knobs were extremely tight out of the box, I figured they'd loosen up with use, as my M1 felt that way at first. But now one of the Zephyr's side to side adjustment trim was prohibitively tight and has now frozen up completely.

I've reached out to Tiffen, but in the meantime I've curious if anyone else has experienced this issue.

Cheers~

Just adding to this old thread!  I'm a Zephyr owner.  Purchased it in 2022.  Part of me wishes I would've waited for the Axis which was recently released.  There were rumors of a Volt upgrade for the Zephyr.  I would LOVE to upgrade my sled to include the Volt but I think they released the Axis.  Anyone hear differently?

This is what my setup looks like.  I'm flying a C300 Mark III with DZO zoom lenses Mattebox, Tilta Nucleus M motors (for the zoom and focus) and a Teradek Bolt 6 LT 750 transmitter.  I often also am pulling my own focus (at minimum F4) with a clamped Tilta Nucleus Nano II onto my gimbal handle.  Not sure what the total weight is but it doesn't feel quite topped out.  I still have a little bit left on both sections of the arm.
