VariZoom Stabilizers acquires Hollywood Lite line

Hello everyone.

This is Tom McKay from VariZoom. VariZoom is a new sponsor on the steadicamforum site. I read some misinformation regarding the Hollywood Lite company going "belly up" in another post and I wanted to clear up this rumor as it is hardly the case.

Ned Steeves and Garry Tull owned and operated the Hollywood lite company for many years and prior to that both had worked a good many years for Steadicam.

VariZoom had recently patented a small handheld stabilizer called the FlowPod. The success of the FlowPod also lead to more enthusiasm and requests to broaden the line. I was impressed with the Hollywood Lite product quality and so it seemed like a good fit when the three of us got together and considered working together.

VariZoom acquired the Hollywood Lite stabilizer line but Ned and and Garry are still very much involved in manufacturing and developing new and innovative gear under the VariZoom name. In fact they are busier than ever and we plan to show off some great new innovations for the steadicam operator at NAB 2005.

I hope anyone attending NAB 2005 will be sure to stop by our booth and try out some of our latest products. Ned, Garry, and myself will all be there.

If you can't make it to NAB 2005 no worries. VariZoom has distributors worldwide and we do shows in many countries outside the USA.

We appreciate suggestions and new ideas from operators. We are a full machine shop and we are anxious to hear about a problem that need to be solved or ideas that will improve operations.

Tom
