hey everybody,

doing a red epic job. i have a u2 top stage getting ready to buy the red power cable from tiffen. can anybody tell me without a doubt that this cable will also power the epic even though it is part listed as a Red power cable not a red epic power cable. just wanted to make sure nothing changed from the red to the red epic voltage wise or polarity. not my camera don't want to fry it.

love to find out asap job is wednesday, ordered it today to ship. Derek felt like it was compatible but i sensed a little uncertainty.

thanks,

Matt,

The RED ONE (and MX) and the Epic have different power connectors. In theory, the Epics have an adapter with them so you can use the RED ONE cable, but I would never count on it.

Seconded. The Red MX cable works with the Epic adapter, but it's kind of awkward to use. Terry West made an Epic cable for me, and it works great. It's also cheaper than the Tiffen Red MX Cable.

I got two Epic power cables (for PRO II Sled) from Michael Irgang (NYC).

He built custom cables for Able Cine before and his works are top-notch like Terry West.

He also modified my Decimator2 power using Lemo 4-pin connector.

Here is his contact info.
