Premium Members Jess Haas SOC Posted June 4, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 4, 2012 Just saw a Bartech FIZ setup today. PLC has the Bartech addon Iris slider on their website already: http://www.plcelectronicsolutions.com/products/BarTech-2-Channel-Iris-Slider-Handset-Upgrade-kit.html I also saw it setup with a Preston digital microforce plugged in to the bartech but I don't see it on the site so I don't know the status of that. Anyone had a chance to play with it? The price definitely seems right. ~Jess
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted June 5, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 5, 2012 This is cool. How do you take advantage of the second channel on the receiver end?
Premium Members JimBartell Posted June 6, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 6, 2012 You need to get a second receiver and it must be a digital one. The digital receiver has extra channel selections that are used for selecting iris operation. Jim Bartell
Premium Members Jess Haas SOC Posted June 6, 2012 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted June 6, 2012 I didn't notice a channel selection for the Iris on the remote. Can multiple of them operate in the same space at the same time? (a 2 camera show for instance) Also whats the status on zoom control? The idea of a full FIZ option at such an attractive price point is awesome. ~Jess

Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted June 7, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 7, 2012 Would it be safe to assume that channels D, E, & F will be for a future zoom function?
Premium Members Marc Alfonso Posted June 7, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 7, 2012 Yes, This is the plan for the future. I have just added them into the wireless protocol. Best Regards, Marc

Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted November 21, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 21, 2012 (edited) Can it be used with one analog and one digital motor driver? If so, wouldn't it be better to use the digital for focus? Edited November 21, 2012 by Victor Lazaro
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted November 21, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 21, 2012 Yes, the Analog receiver and motor can be used for focus while the digital receiver and motor are used for Iris (or zoom).
Premium Members Osvaldo Silvera SOC Posted November 21, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 21, 2012 If you work on live TV and have to run your own focus, you'd rather have the Analog receiver control your focus, so you can plug in the manual focus box, or plug in a Stanton, or G Zoom etc.., There is no current way to manually hard wire focus control to a digital receiver/motor driver that I'm aware of. best, Osvaldo
