Dp7pro high bright

As a broken-record reminder: nits are a measure of brightness but perceived contrast is equally as important when judging viewability of a Steadicam monitor. Famously, the TB6 was not as bright spec-wise as the PRO monitor but many (including me) felt that it provided a more useable image under many conditions, as it washed out less. This was quite literally observed at the monitor shoot-out.

Ok so spot meter with nits....I haven't looked at my Sekonic in a long time do these normally have nits? It's in a box somewhere in my garage.

if it doesn't have nits is there a conversion equation for ft candles? I'm assuming testing in a dark room to avoid ambient light reflections...? With what type of screen color? 18 percent grey, white? I would imagine all colors will give a different reading....? Am I wrong?

When I looked at the monitor at NAB the viewability outdoors was pretty great. I will do a little test with contrast adjustments.

I'm not too worried about viewability. It's going to be a lot better that the monitor I have now..... and right now I don't really complain about viewability.

I am excited to have a monitor with the hardware and UI that this monitor has.

I absolutely love the fact that it will record to an sd card... good buy hyperdeck shuttle..... Have I mentioned I cant stand to deal with another broken DIN connector.

As soon as the recording works on the Smallhd the hyperdeck is going to be sold...

The only thing that I am really hoping for is a way to incorporate an onscreen bubble...

Are you still using the tiffen bubble Rob? How do you like it after all?

Chris, if you have such a problem with negativity on this forum, I don't know why you perpetuate it. Also, this isn't SmallHD's first monitor. I have had great experiences with this company with previous products.

How long have some people been waiting for their Gen 2?

You above all else should know why they have taken so long putting this monitor out. The first panel they designed this monitor around was abruptly discontinued, and the current supplier hasn't been meeting deadlines. I'm sure Cinetronic has dealt with those issues as well, so it perplexes me as to why would bash one company for the same setbacks that you face.

All I can attest to about SmallHD is that they have answered all my questions, they always respond to my queries in a timely manner, and they're friendly. I don't know why you spend so much time bashing other companies' products on this forum when you could be using that time to respond to customer emails.

I am no fanboy. I have held the DP7 HB in my hands, and I have spent time with the DP7 OLED. These monitors are fantastic.

I've said this in previous attacks by you, Chris. You should take the lead from other successful small businesses in this industry and take the high road.

Alan, the negativity isnt toward other companies, its toward you, and your desire to always chime in on absolutely everything, despite having very little experience in this industry. If you put as much time into posting on the forum as you did finding jobs, you might have a little more experience, and a qualified opinion on things.

Ok so the monitor will be at my house on Monday 10:30 am. Or at least FedEx says it will. I would love to see a shoot out with the Cinetronic. I will definitlely not be getting a spot meter that's 5g's just to confirm the 1500+ stated nit bit. Chris your welcome to meet up with me at some point and fire off a few spot readings at this thing. I'm in eagle rock. I have seen your monitor a couple times before and it's a nice peice of art. Beautifully made. I did consider buying it as well. It is unfortunately out of my price range. I have too many house projects. Gotta keep the costs low. ;-)

I do understand why it's that exspensive though. A lot of work went into it I'm sure.

I do wish the smallhd was waterproof as well. I really just think ever using bit of electronics should be waterproof now a days. It's not that hard to do. Rubber o rings are cheap...!! Haha j/k I'm sure it a huge pain to make things waterproof.

Every body in this forum should relax a little bit though. Soon the robots are gonna take over and then what are we gonna do. It's already starting.
