Alexa plus and Preston/c-motion a working combi?

Does any of the Preston HU3 owners on the Steadicam forum has experience with using them on the build-in receiver/motor driver unit on the Alexa Plus?

I cannot find any info on that but as the Alexa (plus) is becoming more or less a standard any other equipment should be able to work with it, to make it economically worthwhile.

Same goes for C-motion.

Still waiting fot an answer from Arri, but maybe some owners can shed light on this?

It only works with C Motion and new Arri Radio Follow focus. The ariels need to match in colour (which signifies the frequency chip) and generally need to both be white although I believe there is a new colour coming out. Many people need to get their C-motions chipped to work with an Alexa+ which ain't cheap.

Weirdly I must do a job every week or other week with kit provided by Arri Media and they still not once have provided a working Arri LCS and Alexa+ combination. The whole thing seems like an abortion to me. By the time it works there will be a new Alexa and it'll all be old news.

It doesn't work with the Preston. Unless things have changed recently.

As Thomas says, c-motion cVolution handunits and camin receivers can be upgraded to the white radio module which is Alexa EV+/Studio compatible. You can mix and match cVolution, WCU-3 and wireless ZMU-3 units to control all channels on separate units. The first one to operate a channel gets it assigned. We have the ECU-3 and cVolution handsets and they work great. Camera and LDS data is displayed on the Handunit automatically.

There is no support for preston handunits or motors. I have heard ARRI and Preston have had multiple discussions in the past to get support because of pressure from big Alexa customers, but they have yet to agree on anything as far as I know.
