Anthony Hardwick
hey Dan,no camping, just carnage. We'll definately have to hit the trails together outside of this group for now. We should do the Lockwood/Miller Jeep trail sometime soon. It starts at Hungry Valley svra (also fun to play in) which is not too far from us -- about 50 mi. As far as the trip on May 7th, I think Jim Bartel is going, Anthony you're welcome to ride along -- Dan, interested? Ron B <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ron, Thank you for the invite! I may take you up on that. The movie I'm on finishes this week, so I'll have a few weeks off before the next gig. It sounds like a fun day. Anthony
Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted April 23, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 23, 2005 I may have a trip to the Big Bear/Lake Arrowhead area this Sat the 30th if a passenger or two wants to come along. I'm also always up for short trips to the Gorman SVRA area or Azusa canyon for you folks with Jeeps/trucks of your own. I'm not too keen on solo wheeling, might need somebody to pull me out or go get a tow truck (or beer). here's a funny story -- Jeff Hunt and I were out in my old H2 last year playing on some pretty hard-core stuff in the Gorman area. Ended up breaking off the driveshaft, tweaking both trail arms and blowing the rear air shocks (essentially reducing my wheelbase by 3 inches). Fun was had by all. We threw the driveshaft in the back of the truck and limped back to the main road using the front wheels. We had to walk around for a while to find the one square foot of cell phone reception. We ran out of beer pretty fast because we were by ourselves -- someone in another vehicle could've replenished the tasty beverages. We were without liquid nourishment for nearly 2 hours and without a camera to capture the fun! Ron B mrtrunion@earthlink.net
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted April 24, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 24, 2005 Ron, for some reason that story sounds like the first paragraph of a Penthouse Forum letter..."I never thought it would happen to me but" etc... You and Jeff broken down in the middle of nowhere; that's H-O-T, dude.
Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted April 24, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 24, 2005 I do have to admit...when we were walking back to my truck, Jeff was beatifully backlit. In our defense, our buzz was wearing off and the steadi-pilots didn't have our coordinates for another beer drop, so romance was out of the question (good thing we didn't have to spend the night -- we also ran out of doritos). speaking of romance -- what are you doing on the 30th? Forget your money-pit and come ride in mine. RB
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted April 24, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 24, 2005 It sounds great, and it's truthfully been a while since I've felt your Doritos-tinged breath on the back of my neck (ah, those long summer nights...OK, I think we should drop this gag before some operator in the former Szdofistan Republic gets the wrong idea about us), but we are moving back into the aforementioned money pit that weekend. Master suite will be all but complete, rest of house still full-on construction zone. It'll be a long couple of months. Looking glorious though. Selling off camera gear like ballast being thrown out of a sinking rowboat.
