Personally i love this quote:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We purchase these systems at wholesale price right off the factory and do not jack the price up.

I know this guys, they are from Argentina, thay have the worst reputation over here, they burned three 435 because they made the cables wrong. Stay away from this guys. They use the bridge plate to balance the camera For an Aft. they main post is made from a Manfrotto monopod and they use neoprene for the "gimbal" grip. They are not a rip off, they are a bad Joke.

Yeah, they really know what they are talking about...

Look, you can use the official Arri follow focus with it, Now I will definately sell my Preston system!

Also, what is this thing made off? Lead? or Uranium? It can hardly be with a 3 second drop-time with so little weight on the bottom. Perhaps you can only fly it without film.....

I was suckered into looking at this when searching for my rig.

When I checked the photos closely (including I believe the one posted) you'll notice that the 435 has been photoshopped in. I saw three photos of the exact same pose with different cameras pasted on top but not quite matching on the top on the D-Box.

It begins to make some sense when you look at the balance of the rig and the fact that the camera has the studio follow focus and viewfinder stil attached. Brutal!

How about this company.

The company is called Eye Motion and they are based in a suburb of Toronto. It seems that they not only sell "steadicams" made by Basson but also operates it. If you look at his other web pages, he is charging $750/12 hr for the operator's rate and $800/12hr for the gear rentals!! That's close to what an experienced steadicam operator with a full size 35mm rig (Tiffen, PRO, XCS, MK-V, etc), Preston, video transmitter, and accessories would charge on a commercial!! <_<

Hey guys. Have you bothered to take a good look att he photo? If not, then take another look. The pic has been tampered with. This is a pic of someone trying to scam people into buying the system. It is not taken from their official website. The picture has been reworked in photoshop by some scam artist trying to make a quick buck. Take a good look. You'll find people all over the internet taking other pics and using them against other potential buyers. To my knownledge, Basson is not aware of this pic.

Yes, I've even seen a piture of the Steadicam being tampered with and sold for less by some idiot on the internet.

Just thought you guys should know. I have seen this picture about a year ago on ebay. So, there you have it.

Hi guys !

Just a little word to tell you that I've tried the basson system, and it really isn't THAT bad compared to other low end cheap systems. Of course it's not a Provid, but for 3-4000$ you can fly a betacam or a super16 very properly. The system has its drawbacks, but it's far better than any other in the same range of prices.(no comparison with the glidecam V-serie which are really what you don't want to try for a pro job).

Don't forget it's only a low-end cheap system after all.

:o)
