Premium Members Sanjay Sami Posted November 30, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 30, 2013 I bought the Bolt as a backup to my Transvideo Titan HD. I now use it as my primary transmitter. It doesn't have the same range, but it is so compact and works just fine. Very impressed so far. Premium Members Brian Freesh Posted November 30, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 30, 2013 Note that when using the Alexa you have to go to monitor output and change it to "p" Progressive Really, why? My understanding from Teradek is that the Bolt will transmit whatever is put into it. I can vouch that I used it with PsF just last week, and have before. However, I've never tried PsF with an Alexa, but that's because I loop through to my Cinetronic monitor which needs a P signal. But you're saying the Bolt itself needs a P signal? I'd love to find out more about this. Can anyone else verify this? Maybe it's a glitch with Dustin's unit or maybe I've been misinformed? Premium Members Lawrence Karman Posted November 30, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 30, 2013 Bolt works with p or psf. Used both many times.
Premium Members Klaus Markl Posted November 30, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 30, 2013 I bought a Teradek Bolt earlier this year. I tested it for 5 minutes when it was delivered. After that I had it in the shelf for a couple of weeks, I was still using my old Teletest RF Videosystem. In October I had a job using a camera with no CVBS-out. The day before I tested the Teradek again. It worked 2 minutes before it went down (no signal sent from the transmitter). I sent it back to the distributor. In mid November I got a call from them: The unit has to be send to England. Maybe it will be back by the end of December. Almost 3 months downtime is nothing I expect from a manufacturer for professional equipment.
Premium Members Mike Gailing Posted November 30, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 30, 2013 Hi Klaus, Sorry to hear about your experience! I looked, but I cannot find any information on a return unit from you. My guess is that your distributor lost or forgot about your unit. We track every device that comes back to us so it would be obvious if something got held up for months. Please shoot me an email with who you bought it from, when you sent it back, and if you have the serial numbers on your unit - mike [at] teradek.com. Speak soon! Premium Members Klaus Markl Posted November 30, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 30, 2013 Superfast reply from Mike (Teradek). Maybe the problem is with the distributor...

I ask because, as far as I know, the Gen 2 Cinetronic will not loop through yet. The Gen 1 will, and will also take any type of signal. Rephrased, the only Gen that needs the P signal is the 2, which doesn't yet loop. Wassup?
Premium Members Brian Freesh Posted December 1, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 1, 2013 I loop through to my Cinetronic monitor Emphasis... well, mine. ;) (I make no claims that my sentence was worded in an easy to read or grammatically correct manner) Yes it's a Gen 2. I'm looping through the Bolt, which is the reason my Bolt usually receives a P signal. I have looped through the Gen 2 and received a signal, but not consistently through a day. :/
Premium Members Afton Grant Posted December 1, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 1, 2013 Ahhh. Of course...my mistake.
Premium Members JobScholtze Posted December 15, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 15, 2013 Hmm, today on set my receiver was refusing to power up. Dang, that suckes, the timing was terrible. Managed to get another bolt. But scary that it can go deadwithout a reason. Gonna need to find a dealer to turn it in
Premium Members Wolfgang Troescher Posted December 16, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 16, 2013 On set a couple of weeks ago, the connection broke at least 5 times. To reconnect I had to switch off/on the transmitter. The distance was just about 5 to 10m without any walls between recv/transm. Did anybody else make this experience? Wolfgang, When was the last time you had your unit upgraded? You might be missing the latest hardware upgrades. Shoot me an email with your serial numbers and we will take a look. Also, what sort of environment were you in when using the Bolt recently? Was there a lot of wireless traffic from WiFi or humidity?
Premium Members Mitch Mommaerts Posted December 17, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 17, 2013 I had this issue earlier this year with a couple of units. After doing the firmware upgrade I haven't had any issues on the 2 systems I use. Hopefully that's the issue.
