will it have the same features (especially the dampening) as Greg's? I still look at an sd image because his is sooooo good. Can't wait for an hd solution as I hate using a plain ole spirit/buble level

Yup. It's all along the lines of my original statement years ago. Build me a HD Color TB-6 and I will buy it

The monitor is called the XCS TB7 and it will be out before year’s end.

A true HD, SDI, HDMI, NTSC, PAL stand alone PDL well, it’s a late summer release, 12 weeks +/- a week or two.

Greg as you explained it to me the PDL is a down converting PDL feeding a TB-6. It's no a color true HD monitor

Not to give to much away to any competitors out there, here are a few things the XCS HD PDL will do and currently does.

Yes, it will take a 3G, 2K (A and B), HD, SDI or analogue in NSTC or PAL signal in and up/down cross convert to whatever output you plug into. So if you put a 1920 x 1080i in you can get the 1920 x 1080i out along with the analogue out and HDMI out and an additional HD loop through of the original in signal input with or without your graphic overlays on each signal or just two outputs. It’s in the USER selectable software you can make the choice.

The PDL will cover over 70 digital video formats that currently exist including all 4 rev. levels of the HDMI and 2K versions. PSF, progressive, interlaced, analogue all in NTSC & PAL. Now with this very basic list of video formats and what the programmers have to cover in the PDL design is the single biggest reason why it has taken so long. Along with a few very expensive errors along the way. I could have put it out a year ago with 70% complete and fewer User selectable add-on’s (I will not go into a list of what they are let’s just call them BONUS items) but that’s not the XCS way. I have walked away from other products currently on the market because they couldn’t do fully what we stated it could do but it failed to do.

HD is here to stay. Do it right the first time from the ground up in design. The same will be for the TB7, which we have already started on. After reading a few comments from operator they still compare our 16 year old PDL design as the one to match or others compete with. The next generation PDL will be no disappointment.

To me out board sensors using the OSD drive in a monitor like Pro, Nebteck and Marshall monitors work. But if you don’t use that OSD driver board (that monitor) you’re out of luck and can’t use the level on other screens. These were inexpensive basic designs that worked to a point. And maybe that’s fine for some operators which is fine by me. But we are talking about LCD driver boards, technology has changed every 1.5-2 years and components are obsolete. Certainly screens, 3 years ago companies were selling 800 x 600 pixel line screens. All products have their place in the market and have their price point as well. If a piece of gear works for you then buy it. Don’t listen to conventional here say. I never did, and probably still don’t.

Also to be clear if anyone is not. There are no true HD monitor screens made under 9” period. A true 1920x 1080 under 9” does not exist at this time. All LCDS down convert the incoming video signal and follow SMPTE standards for conversions (electronic component manufacturers) which may have different resolutions then the monitors stated resolution.

I love you guys and I love my Cinetronic gen 1 and gen 2... But fulfill your pre-orders from end of last year (gen 2 and digital level orders, which you accepted payments for) before you promise technologies to be available by the end of this year.
