Yo,

I will hit up Gorman! I am on the last week of my night feature and I might wreck into you guys from not seeing past the bags in my eyes. Let me know when you plan on going to gorman Ron. I think it is time to get the vehicross dirty. I just saw the picture of the guy who snapped his wheel off his hummer. Hey Ron, isn't that the same guy that broke the axl last time I went off roading with you? That guy has got to chill on breaking his shit. I guess I can make it out there weaponless......Damn!

I have to agree with Jim. I looked up some parts of that trail and thought there was no way we would make it. Ron is a crazyman!

It was a fun day and we had a good group of people. I'm up for another trip!!

Thanks Ron

Jennifer Klassen is coming out with her fiance...she wants to go for a trail ride. We should get a group together (with tasty beverage) and have a desert suare'. Dan Ayers, are you in town? I guess of the 1000 or so steadi-ops here in LA, we are the only two with trucks? Hmmm.

I'm in town after Memorial Day. I'm up for any time after that. I found out that my Suzuki is ok for the trails, so I can do both. Since Gorman would be fine for my suburban it still would be fun to bring the cycle too. Somebody could use it. Let's just make a date for the 4th of June! Let's get all of the people we can. How about camping up there? Anyone interested?

Ok, here we go!

Dan, the Suzuki sounds like a blast -- you'd be amazed at what those little trucks can do. Also, there are plenty of places to camp, but it's all dirt so most bring trailers or campers.

Will, it would be great to meet you, glad you are in town. Anthony Hardwick...are you out there? I'll have to call John Hankammer and Greg Bubb, I don't think they frequent the forum. The more the better (more to help when we get stuck, or to go for help when we break...the trucks, hopefully not ourselves).

BJ,

forgot to reply -- yes, that was the same guy. Needless to say he wasn't pleased with 2 breakdowns in 3 trips. Neither were serious, but the latter one required a few hours wait for spare part to arrive (I now carry spare half-shafts, ball joints as well as bring a passenger to do all the dirty work). What really saved us was having a sat-phone. Cell service was not too hot up there.

maybe instead of carrying all these spare parts I could put Dan's Suzuki in the back of my truck?!

Will, I imagine you are working all week? I know Jennifer won't be able to go during Cine-gear (3rd, 4th, 5th), but we could go Sat the 4th and return in time to tell tall tales of trail carnage and drunken debauchery in the hot sun at the steadicam meeting at Dalts that night.

maybe an excursion earlier in the week for those of us who are unemployed? E-mail me directly if you wish, or call -- I'm in the 600 book.
