Premium Members Charles Papert Posted February 8, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 8, 2013 Touched base with the director and he said that there was a very minimal amount (less than 1%) of Smoothcam used for the push-in early in the video and then none thereafter, which as far as I'm concerned is so inconsequential as to put this debate to rest. So now let's all give Mike the props that he deserves for a magnificent operating job!

Premium Members Mike Heathcote SOC Posted February 8, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted February 8, 2013 Thanks everyone for the compliments! :) There was no post stabilization!! Premium Members Thomas English Posted February 8, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 8, 2013 Yeah, I am seriously impressed. Amazing slow moves. I also didn't want to insult or offend but I wanted to ask if any post Stabilization has been used. I ask this as a complement not an insult. I've seen stabilization (post) used on a few jobs I've shot over the recent years and the results are absolutely incredible. Having worked as an Editor and done visuals as a VFX artist for some of the biggest bands and being very au-fait with all the warp stabilizers currently out there I know it has been used in this video. Its obvious. Its not an insult. 1% is what tweaks amazing Steadicam into zapppppaaaaaaaaa kappowww omg! Doesn't detract from the incredible work, beautifully slow tilt up and insane slow moves. It doesn't detract at all.
Premium Members Bryan Trieb Posted February 8, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 8, 2013 Knowing Mike, he probably operated this shot in neutral too. So all you Haters wrap your heads around that for a moment. Some people just have the Touch, and honour the craft in the highest regard. Kudos Bro.
