Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted March 9, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 9, 2013 put a call into Greg Bubb about his and have not heard back from him. For now, his PDL is the best and why many of us still use downconverters Hi Ron, Had a little e-mail exchange with Greg about his HD/SDI/Composite PDL. It will have a menu driven input/output signal setting, so you can have a level on your TB-6 as well as on your HD monitor, just press a button. As far as I understood, there will be a stand alone unit followed by the build in version for his Ultimate sleds and then a "HD TB-6"... you will be able to upgrade your existing Monitor. But if you get the HD PDL you don't need to upgrade your TB-6. He had no pricing or exact due date (he's at the mercy of his engineers)... that was a couple of months ago, I would say by now it should be anytime now. Later, Erwin

Erwin Hi Erwin! that is how he described it at CineGear '12 -- sounds great...want...need...gimme! It will be much slicker than the sd pdl (better buttons, bnc connectors) and similar dimentiins (slightly longer he said). Just haven't heard anything new since June and am sick of flying a down converter. I believe the Cinetrinic level will only work with the Cinitronic? Love to see that one when it's out as well. Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted March 11, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 11, 2013 Missed Greg's call this weekend -- like Erwin said the engineers are busily working away on it. Greg said sometime this summer. I hope it's ready to show at CineGear so everyone can check it out. Love his products!
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted March 16, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 16, 2013 For the Marshall I just ordered this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009YDIONE/ref=ox_ya_os_product for clamping it to the post as it can do a 90deg angle
Premium Members Daniel Stilling DFF Posted March 17, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 17, 2013 In my case what always broke was the level USB plug, not the port on the monitor. Very good idea but poorly implemented...

Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted May 29, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 29, 2013 Quick news about what I did with my level. Two issues have been where to place it an how. And the second was the USB plug braking. I have a solution for both. First the bracket. I am using one from eBay. I'll send the link next time as I'm on set now. The second thing, yesterday the USB plug broke and got a replacement level so I decided to experiment with the first one. After all its only a USB cable soldered in 4 points to a board. So I removed the whole super long cable and replaced it with a super short female USB plug. Now if I break the poorly located USB, I just need to replace it with an off the shelf USB cable and I can even choose the length of the cable. The soldering is simple 4wires on the board and that's it. (See previous post for the board)
Premium Members John Brankin Posted June 7, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 7, 2013 I'm on the fence about buying the level. How are you guys liking it after using it for a few jobs? Is it worth it?
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted June 7, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 7, 2013 It is not perfect, far from it, but I really like having it. Also I started placing a vertical line in the center of my frame to align any verticals with it. The two combined is working for me. The level has a bit of delay but the video signal has none. I would recommend it still as it allows you to keep your eyes on the image.
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted June 7, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted June 7, 2013 My USB port broke off of my monitor on the third day using it, so be careful. I still have my level, so of you are interested in buying one, PM me.
