Light Broadcast Camera for the Tango

Hello all,

I've been hired to shoot a live broadcast event in Hawaii in May. The company is interested in adding the Tango to the mix. The Tango has a 6lbs camera weight limit. I've spoken with VER about camera options but didn't have a lot of luck. Is anyone aware of a camera with painting capabilities that is under 6lbs or a work around? Thank you.

We've flown a Sony HDC-P1 with an ENG lens on the Tango at Golf Channel for a test. It makes weight. That camera requires a Cat5 and a 75ohm Coax traveling back to the house, so that's a potential hassle. You can only make a Cat5 cable so small.

Here's the camera:

Here's the lens we used:

The total is closer to 9lbs. I can give you the owner's contact info if you want to talk shop about it.

Hi Grant, hello everybody!

The sinaCAM is a wonderful little camera for the Tango.

Big advantage - only one cable down the spar.

I don't know if you can rent it in the US - the international distributor for the US is http://www.zgc.com/s/v/cameras-sinaCAM.html

Have you already done the job? How was it?

All the best

Martin
