Brad Smith
Just tiding up a last minute sync issue with the Alexa, which popped up on the first couple monitors. The first 10 people know where they stand. The next batch will be 25 and should be out in 2 weeks. The preorder will also end this week, since monitors are pretty much in production... Now to whip the programmers some more and get things done.. Thanks for the update Chris. How many pre orders do you have, or if you like how many weeks will it take to get all the pre orders out? Premium Members chris bangma Posted March 17, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 17, 2013 All the software will be upgradable though the usb port on the monitor.
Premium Members James Baldanza SOC Posted March 17, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 17, 2013 What's the status of the level?
Premium Members chris bangma Posted March 19, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 19, 2013 The level sensor will be ready the beginning of April. The software for generating the level on screen is already in place. Just testing the level sensor currently, and making sure it has the right feel. Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted March 27, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 27, 2013 FYI, received my Gen 2 today. You will not be able to use a right angle 8 pin Lemo connector on the monitor side, as it interferes with the tally connector. You will need a straight connector cable.
Premium Members Afton Grant Posted March 28, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 28, 2013 Jens, is that only if you are using the tally connector, or does it interfere with the connector itself?
Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted March 28, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 28, 2013 With the female side tally connector on the monitor itself...unfortunately
Premium Members William Demeritt Posted March 28, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 28, 2013 While it's unfortunate that the first units would be showing up with that issue, I would imagine it's an easy fix? Probably just need to get inside the housing, unscrew the bulkhead LEMO and re-orient the key so the right angle points in a less obstructed direction? Not sure, maybe Chris will weigh in? Premium Members Afton Grant Posted March 28, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 28, 2013 As best I can tell from the pictures, the only alternative keying of the connector would be for the elbow to point "down" - away from the monitor. Not exactly a nice, tidy solution. I don't do much live stuff, so I might rather lose the tally connector all together rather than reorient the Lemo. Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted March 28, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 28, 2013 What about just getting a straight connector instead of tempering with the monitor?
Premium Members Afton Grant Posted March 28, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 28, 2013 What about just getting a straight connector instead of tempering with the monitor? Certainly possible... just kind of a costly pain more than anything. The 8 pin monitor cables aren't cheap - about $200 each. So that's $400 if you have just one cable and one backup. I've got several: a standard cable, an extended length cable, one that has a BNC breakout, and then the cable coming out of my PDL. A straight 8 pin Lemo connector is about $50. You could have all your current cables modified to have a straight end, but even that would be over a hundred bucks each with labor. Cheapest option is always to do it yourself, but not everyone can.
