John Hatcher
Hi guys, I have an Ultra 2 and where the monitor mounts on the bracket on the center post, once the little pin snaps into place, I tighten the kipp handle and the whole bracket seems to still wiggle around a bit. Is there a simple fix for this or is a new kipp handle in order? I emailed Derek on Feb 25th about this and haven't received a reply yet. I'd really like to figure out how to get this solved. Thanks in advance! John
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted March 8, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 8, 2013 I have been having issues with Kipp Handles as well (on my Zephyr) and contacted Derek with no answer so far. Have you tried calling Tiffen's Steadicam Warranty Service 818 843 4600. It's the only place I was able to get someone at the other end of the line. Premium Members Mark Schlicher Posted March 9, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 9, 2013 Victor, I'm confused. There's not a single kipp handle on my Zephyr setup....? Do you mean the gimbal clamps?
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted March 9, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 9, 2013 Yes, I meant that :)
Premium Members Mark Schlicher Posted March 9, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 9, 2013 Oh, that makes more sense. Do you have the original clamp design? What are you experiencing?
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted March 9, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 9, 2013 Yeah original clamps got stuck so it needs to be swapped (should have been done ages ago) plus my safety screws on the dovetail "disappeared" (thanks random camera intern but you don't have to remove them to put the plate).
