Premium Members James Leonzio Posted June 2, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 2, 2013 (edited) Hey guys, I can't believe I'm just reading about this now. I was at NAB and completely missed the opportunity to see this in person. I have a couple questions, and figured I'd annoy you guys first, before Jack:) 1. Any chance PRO figured out a way to get the sled, arm, vest all in one case, kind of like the Archer2? I know it's a long shot, but for traveling, this would be great for me. 2. Is the extendable post an optional upgrade on the $34,200.00 package? Or do any changes to the package throw you back into a la carte pricing? 3. Will PRO be at Cinegear NY? Would love to see it/fly it there. 4. Anyone interested in my Archer2 package? I give good price, haha, especially if you're NYC local. Premium Members Kris Torch Wilson Posted June 6, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 6, 2013 @ Eric, I have no interest whatsoever in getting into a pissing match but for the record I use the motorized stage on my Ultra2 several times a show, four nights a week, 46 weeks a year. Yes it's heavy and was expensive. Yes I would consider selling it and getting a lighter rig if I thought I could get a fair deal. But it IS a great feature. Premium Members brett.mayfield Posted January 24, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 24, 2014 Hey James I know that this is an old thread, but you wondered about a single case syste, I went to Thermodyne and had them build me a case, because I also really liked the Archer2 case system. The part that was difficult was figuring how to fit the Atlas arm, because it doesnt breakdown like the G40 did (as I had with my Archer2), is a few inches longer, and I didnt want to shove it inside of the vest on the top shelf, I use that space for other stuff. So here is the final result. Im very happy with the case. It is heavy and it is big, but having done a one-case system and a two-case system, i found that this served me better for both local and travel work. The guys over at Thermodyne now have everything they need to make you a custom cut case. And they were awesome to work with.
Premium Members James Leonzio Posted January 25, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 25, 2014 Brett, Very cool! Thanks for posting! Do you happen to know the dimensions of that Termodyne case, or the model#? Also, did you try getting the arm to fit in the case flat and diagonally, sort of in it's own protected layer above the sled, but below the vest? That's always how I imagined it would fit, but the way you have it looks sweet too.
