Premium Members Brian Freesh Posted June 29, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 29, 2013 Don't care about headphones, if the director wants the handheld monitor it's because he or she wants to be close enough they won't need a comtek anyway. When they're wearing headphones they are at the studio monitor. The aforementioned $100 difference is for the HD-SDI version of both monitors. Premium Members Mike Germond SOC Posted June 30, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted June 30, 2013 (edited) I hijacked my own thread so I'm okay with this :) I looked into the AC7 as well and I sympathize with your thoughts on it Brian. The contrast ratio on the Marshall is higher at 1000:1 versus 800:1 but I don't know if that's enough to impact visibility. And the AC7 doesn't cross convert so I'd be buying that extra converter I don't want. It's just not as much of a 1 stop shop as I'd like. On a side note, I noticed the LCD70MD is 800-nits but the LCD90MD is only 600-nits. Same contrast ratios. Premium Members John atkinson Posted June 30, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 30, 2013 The downside of the Paralinx is reconnect time if you have momentary drop of signal. It can be 4-10seconds, bad for focus puller. My Cam Waves have never let me down, when I rent them out there are always problems. They are great when used correctly, as with any piece of equipment.
