But I couldn't get that crt thought out of my head, so after thinking of just shooting a series of stills with 1/5000th exposure time

to at least see if resutls are possible, I just quickly searched youtube and yes, you do see the photon beam scanning :)

 

Sorry for the delay, I will post as soon as I get a chance to export the proprietary format to something "youtubeable".
Don't expect too much though, it's just some basic trials in a hotel room ^_^
