Premium Members JobScholtze Posted August 27, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 27, 2013 Just a shout out to the Peeps of Pro GPI. At cinegear Jack measured for whenever i decided to get myself a new vest. After many many years of using Master Vests backmounted vest and some other vests, i wasnt sure if i would go for it. Spoke with several ops, try'd a NON fitting vest, and decided to go for it. Did a lot of jobs with it, and after a few weeks, a few 12+ hour day's, i can truly say i just LOVE that vest. Oh boy, it was just the same as when i got a loaner PRO arm for the first time, the difference is so major, i cant describe it enough. Looking for a new vest? Make sure to give the PRO vests a good change, its gonna be my last vest for sure......

Chris Allen
I wish I could get mine to 'fit like a glove'...I've always had issues and even spoke over the phone with Jack about things. Debating whether to sell it and look into a Klassen. Or what can I do to get this thing to feel right? Chris
Premium Members Iain Baird Posted December 16, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 16, 2013 I love my PRO vest but I've found that you have to play around with the fittings until it feels right UNDER LOAD. Mine actually fits a little crooked in the shoulders until it has weight on it then it settles perfectly. IB
Chris Allen
I may be slow, but i just can't seem to get the adjusted under load even with an assistant...how do you adjust and tighten the shoulder bolts? what comes first adjusting the shoulder strap bolts or the velcro in the back? The center spar is lined up with my chest bone, and the hip pad is just even with the hip bone, but the arm mount is so high that my right eblow and forearm pretty much rest on the lower arm (pin) as I fly (normal, not goofy) Just so frustrated with not getting the fit right...but it is better than wearing an Ultra2 vest. chris
Premium Members Tom Wills Posted December 16, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 16, 2013 Chris, might be worth asking Jon Beattie to help you. He's a good friend of mine, a great guy, and a pro vest user himself. He's just over in Long Island.
Premium Members Iain Baird Posted December 16, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 16, 2013 The problem you have with your elbow on the arm is why I designed the drop down bracket. IB
Chris Allen
Thanks Tom! and thank you Ian for coming up with a solution... Cheers, Chris
Premium Members Adi Visser SOC SASO Posted December 20, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 20, 2013 I agree the PRO vest rocks! It does take time to get it pefect for your body though but just keep fiddeling ..it will fit just right eventually , and yes under load it sets down a bit lower so that tweak also helps ,I find with full load you should be able to move your legs up to tummy hight without any problems but I guess all to their own, great vest. Premium Members Marco Dardari Posted March 5, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 5, 2014 Job, what do you think of the fact that the pro vest does not have the ability to adjust the height of the socket block? I also work in goofy ways, and I find it a bit awkward to release the vest on the left... Marco
Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted March 5, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 5, 2014 it never bothered me that you can't change the height of the socket block. changing that also means you will be changing the point (lever) where the weight is distributed into the vest, i would rather change the gimbal post or j-bracket to raise or lower the sled, plus your arms are only so long to reach the gimbal anyway.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEdmWKpanvQ love goofy...
Premium Members JobScholtze Posted March 10, 2014 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted March 10, 2014 Sorry marco, been a while for me on this forum for several reasons :-) It don't bother me at all. The boomrange of the pro is so big and that arm is so easy to fly that i don't need to adjust the socket block hight. Never did. I do use a ibaird bracket ( is that the right name? ) to lower my socket block, and jack modified my vest so i open it op from the right. Greaaaaaattttttt work from pro as usual :-)
Chris Allen
Maybe I'll fly to Cali and see if I can't get the folks at Pro to get my vest to fit right...I know I would love it if it fit right, but just can't get it. Demoing the less expensive Klassen vest soon...waiting for it to arrive. Chris
Evrim KAYA
Hello Chris, You should also demo the exo vest before making your decision. pro, klassen, exo or standard. all are excellent products. you should see which one fits you the best. i wrote a short review on the exo thread if you're interested. fly safe.
