Modulus 5000 Wireless Video Transmitter HDSDI Downconverter

To anyone curious about how this transmitter works, since these were never widely available from what I can tell, here's the rundown.

The Modulus 5000 is a standard-def Modulus transmitter, which has an internal HDSDI downconverter. It has inputs for composite (SD) video as well as the HDSDI input. It transmits on the same standard-def UHF frequencies of the Modulus, meaning all your old receivers and monitors can still be used. It looks like it has some upgrades from the old standard Modulus 3000 as well - nice Lemo connector for power, and pushbutton switches to change the channel on it.

I tested these out with Adam, and I can say that it's a pretty interesting little piece of kit. Certainly nice to have the downconversion and transmitter in one box, rather than having to put a Decimator on the rig just for the transmitter.

Hey Guys,

Tom provided some much greater detail that was probably needed. Thanks Tom! Apparently these are hard to come by for some reason.

I have a second unit available which seems to be stuck on Channel 38 for some reason. No problem working the unit, just has to be on Channel 38.

I have a good offer in on the Variable Channel Unit on Ebay which I will probably accept soon. Anyone interested in making an offer on either or both units before I accept? I can offer up a monitor as well to make the package sweeter.

Let me know, the offer in on Ebay will expire Thursday, but I will probably accept earlier than that.

-Adam
