Premium Members Marc Alfonso Posted November 29, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 29, 2013 Okay, so I'm getting closer to having these available. I've actually partnered up with PLC Electronics! They'll be supplying me with the same great boards that they use in their Epic run cable, and in return, I'll be assembling my design for them to sell in place of their current design. It's a win-win for everybody! I have also decided to make two options: the original design, "All-in-One," and a version with a BNC jack for use with semi-permanent breakout boxes. For those interested in purchasing, I have an order form online. The lead-time as of now is two weeks (waiting on parts to be delivered). Here's the link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1ztgQ_wktG54F7wK68zBdC5pzcCAUF7INBvkW4EYyXww/viewform Excellent! And smart move by PLC. Your design is far superior to their old one. Glad I could be part of the testing as well! Yes, we are glad to work with Alan by supplying him with the camera run and protection circuits and will soon also supply the cables that Alan has designed through our Webstore as well. Thank you again for everyone's feedback on how we can improve our Digital Receiver for the Bartech, we really appreciate it. Regards, Marc
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted December 15, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 15, 2013 Hi any timeframe for this? I could use this for this tuesday. I'm sure it's too early, but I'd love to get an idea of when I could get one. Also, can the BNC version come with a short BNC to Lemo cable? so I can choose to use BNC for those setups with a sync box and Lemo for everything else? Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted December 15, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted December 15, 2013 Victor, there is currently a bug on one or more builds of the Epic firmware that breaks the start stop function. I'm trying to get more info from red before I build the cables. In the meantime, I can send you one of my prototype cables to tide you over, but there is a chance that the camera you end up shooting on has the bug. Please get in touch with me: alanjrencher@gmail.com
Premium Members Peter Hoare Posted December 17, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 17, 2013 Hmm, thats an interesting comment. We have loads of users with our system using the run cables on epics and scarlets and I've never had reports that they havn't worked. I did once hear from a rental company that there was a bug like this though, maybe I've just been lucky. Pete.
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted December 17, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted December 17, 2013 You might want to get your hands on a beta build and double check. Maybe you are lucky.
Premium Members Eric Fletcher S.O.C. Posted December 17, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 17, 2013 You might want to get your hands on a beta build and double check. Maybe you are lucky. Why anyone would shoot with Beta software is beyond me.
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted December 17, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted December 17, 2013 I'm not suggesting people are shooting beta.

Premium Members Marc Alfonso Posted December 19, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 19, 2013 We verified that the On - Off work on the Red EPIC 4.0.18 release as well as on 5.1.23 Beta two weeks ago. ( The camera rental house only temporarily put Beta on for our test and then reverted back to 4.0.18 Release as soon as our test was finished ) You need to ensure the following in the menu of the camera Brain GPIO Menu Camera Input: General Purpose In Brain GPI In High Record Start Brain GPI In Low Record Stop Camera Output Sync Out Cheers Marc

Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted December 26, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted December 26, 2013 (edited) The new circuit boards are in transit! I should be able to assemble them pretty quickly once I have them in hand. Edited December 26, 2013 by Alan Rencher
