My Sh*& Don't Stink and Yours Doesn't Either. What's the best shot you've done and why?

Игорь, Это было абсолютно восхитительно. Спасибо за разделение его с нами.

Hopefully I just told Igor what an incredible shot that was and didn't instead insult one of his pets. Either way, great shot. I guess I can see why that was only one take.

And I'm with Doc. So cool to see so many peeps sharing fantastic stuff. Keep it all coming. Wish we were hearing from more ops.

Dave-

Love this thread. Nice to see a ton of positive energy infused into the forum. Really solid work by you and everyone that has posted. It makes me proud to be an operator and go into work tomorrow with a positive attitude. Don't have a oner to post, but I can offer a scene I am kinda stoked on.

Tough sequence and thought it came out well in the end. Kinda choppy for editing, but it works. We shot this always as a oner from start to finish and sometimes double back and did it again, gotta love 2perf.

Nice sequence Dave in a really good movie.

Igor, again, really nice shot. Here is a bit of silly American humor I thought was very funny relating to what I was talking about before. Hope you can understand it:

I'm still very new, but I would consider this to be my best shot: http://youtu.be/Ozb7fyaUpmo
I first learned to balance a Steadicam on March 14th of this year, constantly practiced until the end of the semester (May), and have now been taking a course my school offers on it since September. This shot is something I came up with on my own, and was taken in late October.

Joseph,

First off, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THAT!!!! This is exactly what I was hoping some folks would do, feel comfortable enough to post something they are happy with even though they are at the beginning stages of their careers. So kudos to you my friend!

It's a ballsy shot to come up with mainly due to al the verticals in the frames and that pullback away from the two guys in the beginning is a killer because there's no where to hide any slop. Love the reveal of the kid with the baseball bat.

Well done. You're operating is only going to continue to improve and your placement of people in the frame is great. Keep up the good work and keep running around in the rig as much as you can. You're on your way and again, thanks for being part of the conversation!

Dave

P.S. What rig is this with?

Dave - Thank you very much for your words of encouragement. The rig is a Steadicam Scout, shot with a canon xf300. My university has a total of 5 Steadicam scouts, but we do not have any wireless follow focuses, forgot to mention that as well in case anybody was wondering about the focus.
