Anyone have one there looking to sell? I think the 6inch is a nice size for a return monitor.

6" is too big in my opinion for a return monitor, 5" max but SmallHD, Transvideo and TV Logic all have insane cool 5" HD monitors that in my opinion are way overkill for a return monitor, but if they are used for other things and/or a back up monitor they for sure are a worthy purchase

Time is money, so best to buy what you would love now and have it last you for the next 5+ years. The Transvideo starlite HD 5" Oled is super thin, records H264 on an sd card, has full size hdsdi Bnc connectors with loop thru and is $2000. Buyahhh! Done, no need for a new return monitor for years. Think of it this way.. 400 @ year rental for 5 years and its paid for. One full rate day and its paid and then some.

A friend is in Paris checking it out in person this week.if he says it's the shit, I'm getting it.

Rob what do you use as your return monitor. I'm just trying to upgrade my ikan 3.5 inch 4:3 monitor.

Dan, I am currently using the Tiffen 4.3" 16x9 analog monitor, small light and simple. The monitor that Ozzy is talking about looks amazing on paper and the small demo I saw last year looked pretty cool, but 2k for a return monitor kills me. I'm not a baller like Ozzy . . . .LOL

Got a DP7 Pro monitor last week. I planned to use it as a back up, but my Nebtek died the day after I got my DP7 so for now it is a primary. The picture is sharp, and pretty easy to focus off of. The contrast ratio is not as good as I was expecting, but I got the standard model not high bright. One thing I didn't really realize is that the composite input is a Hirose on the side of the monitor.

I was going to make a cable for my analog Marell digital level which would be 8 pin lemo to 4 pin hirose, but I now see that the cable will be sticking out of the side of the monitor right where the yolk is. I will have to unplug the video cable to clear the yolk each time I reposition it. Not an impossible situation, but not ideal either. Has anybody using this monitor figured out a solution to this?

Guys, thanks for the responses.

Rob, the DP7 Pro SB has the analog video input in the same spot, so it would be the same problem.

I only wanted analog so that I could use my Marell digital level, while my Nebtek monitor and level are being repaired.

Iain, thank you for the offer the the BM upconverter, but I think the Marell level only works with an SD signal to SD signal overlay.

Matthias, your yolk may be the best solution. If my Nebtek turns out to be not repairable, , I may be contacting you about a new

yolk.

Thanks again.Oh, I forgot to ask the most important question. When I called small HD they said the video connector on the side was a "high rose" I always thought it was pronounsed " hi- row -see. Have I been pronouncing it incorectly all these years?

Hi have the DP7 PRO HB SX for 2 months now and can only praise the built quality and clean image. And the service from SmallHD is fast and efficient.

It will display all HD format without changing the camera settings. The back plate is rock solid with a nice battery meter. Menus are a breeze to go into and I actually love the hotkey function.

Now my primary monitor on every job.

Hi Thomas,

The Cinetronic Gen 2 yoke with a small modification : The Small HD DP7 is about 1/4 an inch wider than the Cinetronic so I had my machinist replicate the transversal rod by a longer one. I sold the Cinetronic but kept the yoke as I liked it. And I put some locktite in the screw holes at both ends of the new rod to make sure it would not come loose.

hope that helps.
