Hello Steadicam Forum

Newb question for you, I got a job coming up that i need to do low mode for and got this bracket with my arm kit. However this is a bracket shape I'm not familiar with, also every time I undock the rig it falls back to me immediately i'm assuming its due to the angle. What am i doing wrong?

Thanks

I'm guessing that when you say it falls back to you, you mean the rod that has the red collar in it (the one that is angled by the D bracket) is spinning, so the rig comes back towards you, correct?

If so, the problem is that that rod is not supposed to rotate. That rod should be locked to the D bracket, so that it and the gimbal handle become one piece when you pin them together. That way, the angle helps you get the sled a bit more clear of the arm, but it doesn't cause the rig to flop around. Ideally, there should be both some kind of pin going through the D bracket and into the post, as well as a set screw to lock its rotation. Does your D Bracket have these?

Hey Harrisen,

I have an extra low-mode bracket you can try if you'd like.
