Premium Members Thomas English Posted August 30, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 30, 2005 I want a gimble that extends up above the bearing by an inch. So when I am in low mode I can operate off the gimble and not on the post itself.
Premium Members Brant S. Fagan SOC Posted August 31, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 31, 2005 Gents-- Perhaps a wrap grip cut down to an overall height of 2.25" will suffice for low mode operation rather than compromise the range of gimbal placement in high mode. I believe Bob Derose and later GPI have made such an animal. I use mine all the time for low mode work. We add this to the post during the flip to low mode; takes no time at all. Premium Members Charles Papert Posted August 31, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 31, 2005 There are a number of practitioners who swear by operating in low mode from above the gimbal (where the handgrip conveniently remains). I do it occasionally myself but in general I do it old-school below the gimbal, and as Brant points out a cut-down handgrip can be useful. Premium Members Stephen Murphy Posted August 31, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 31, 2005 Speaking of which is there anybody making cut down wrap grips for 2 inch posts? I used to use one all the time when i has my 1.5" post.
