Premium Members Gregory Lundsgaard Posted May 2, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 2, 2014 I'm selling my brand new (never been used) MOVI gyro stabilized camera platform. I thought I could use it for the show I'm working on.. "Hawaii Five-o" I set it up using a Canon C-300 camera and a Panavision prime lens, Heden motor with a Preston MDR. We turned it on and .... It worked... very cool. It's like a hand held Libra Head. But it takes too long for us to balance and shoot. "TV TIME" CRAZY FAST.... So.... I concede...and would like to sell the package. This was a big hit a NAB this year. The payload is 10 pounds max. They just came out with an upgrade to allow for a 15 pound payload. It's expensive but the possibilities are endless for any type of moving shots. Check out their website -- Freefly. - MOVI original cost was $ 15,000.00 I'll sell the complete MOVI 10 package with Transmitter bracket/strap for $10,000.00. The Freefly company will reissue their warrantee once I send them the unit to inspect and send it out to the new buyer. This will cost me $250.00 This is a great deal! I just want to move this....... Premium Members Frederic Sturm Posted May 6, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 6, 2014 Why not luis? Some of us might have an interest in trying one out at a fair price, or to experiment with combining it with a steadicam. Just to save Greg having to answer more inquiries from here: He told me it was sold soon after posting ;)
Premium Members Kevin Andrews SOC Posted May 6, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 6, 2014 yup, I bought it. And yup, I'm going to combine it with Steadicam.
Premium Members Frederic Sturm Posted May 7, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 7, 2014 Congrats Kevin (and thanks for stealing it away under my nose  ). Have fun with it and let us know how you combine it with steadicam and how that works out! I wanted it to try some combinations, too - well there'll be another one for sale sometime ;)
Premium Members James Leonzio Posted May 27, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 27, 2014 Hey Frederic (and anyone else who's looking). I just put my M10 up for sale in case you're still looking. Used, but in very good shape. Premium Members Mathieu Charest Posted May 27, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 27, 2014 And they said it would replace steadicam  Les Production Mathieu Charest Inc. Premium Members Lars Erik Posted May 28, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 28, 2014 Mathieu, to be fair to Greg and James, I think most who said it would replace steadicam had little or no experience. The more experienced ops were never worried. I think it's a nice tool for certain shots. After it's appearance, I have actually seen a few times having one would come in handy. But have been reluctant to get one due to price, weight limit and set up time.
