Alex Kolb
There was again some fantastic Steadicam work on Eurovision this year. My particular favorite was this long take on the song entry from The Netherlands - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWe8PRsW4T0. Premium Members Marc R. Berger Posted May 11, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 11, 2014 I was very impressed too -with the Steadicam work- and with all the other camera work too. There was some very exceptional directing/ camera work/ live editing . The Danish TV made a impressive and great job!
Premium Members JobScholtze Posted May 11, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 11, 2014 The used a system where all the "cuts" are programmed. Still, you as a camera operator or steadicam op need to come up with your shot, or the auto "cut" will get you :-) Almost, i mean Almost we would have the next version in Holland. We just lost from Austria by a few points. Would have been awesome to do. ( I already have done 2 versions of the eurovision songfestival children version ) Oh well, big concrats to Austria, and the crew who did a amazing job
Alex Kolb
Job, I absolutely love that software! I've been lobbying to get it on to the show I'm on for quite some time now. Very handy that the camera ops (at least those on the pedestals) can see the timeline, too.

Premium Members Klaus Markl Posted May 11, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 11, 2014 I agree, very nice software, especially the „timeline reference“ for the camera operators. But it can only be used if you have a pre-recorded soundtrack, some kind of choreography & professional artists. Or am I wrong?
Premium Members Per-Kristian Henriksen Posted May 13, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 13, 2014 (edited) Norman Bever, i think Stefan Eriksson(Sweden) and Karsten Jacobsen(Denmark) were the two OP's on Eurovision this year! Considering the rehearsal-video I believe this was Karstens work! And most of you have seen his astonishing work with the segway-shot from earlier so no bomb that this is just as rock-solid! Alex Kolb
Karsten Jacobsen was also the associate director to the production.
