Premium Members Afton Grant Posted August 16, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 16, 2005 I've got a video taken of me shooting my final exam at a workshop. I know the norm is to look at someone's footage from a shot, but all I have for now is footage of me shooting a shot. I don't know how much critique is possible from just that, but I thought I'd put it out there and see. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks a ton! http://www.aftongrant.com/temp/steadicam.wmv
mattmarek
when you start walking with the rig, it appears as though you are not 'feathering' just just start walking. this will cause a bit of a jar in the shot. try pushing the sled out a beat before you start your hip movement. keep practicing. hours a day man :D

I thought for sure Paul would have come up with something different by now. I agree with Matt. Feathter the rig out before walking. Paul did mention that the exam has been around for as long as he's been teaching. At this point, I believe it's become some sort of tradition. The only difference i saw was that our female agent was much hotter. :)
