Zephyr with Exovest

Recommended Posts

Having been researching/poking around both Tiffen's site and here for a while, my understanding of the Zephyr's place within the Steadicam range is as a semi-professional, self-contained, non-upgradeable system.

Having said that (and assuming it's correct), can the Zephyr arm attach to the standard socket block on the Exovest? If not, is there an adapter anywhere that anyone knows of?

Thanks :)

(Side note: I'm aware of the advice to all newbies to attend a workshop. It's on the list.)

Hi Nathan,

I'm using my Zephyr with an Exo and it's an awesome package.

This: http://www.tiffen.com/displayproduct.html?tablename=steadicam&itemnum=803-7801

is all you need. Why in the world they list that under Accessories -> vest when there is a "socket block" category... Who knows ;)

Oh, and make sure you tell them to send the 6 screws to mount it, and the 2 adjustment screws. Mine arrived without them because,
don't laugh, as I was told then, "I didn't order them".

I thought it might be attached to an invisible hovercraft by default and you don't need screws to a vest anymore, but sadly, no...

To be fair to Tiffen though, I just checked and those 6 screws, I think, were actually included.

However, the 2 adjustment wing screws, which even are in the picture, were not. They set me back an additional
EUR 12.50 + VAT per piece (not kidding!).
