Premium Members Jason Leeds Posted August 14, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 14, 2014 You had me at beer. You can go up to 10 pounds which I'm sure you already know. From what I see on your pic you shouldn't have a problem. So what's up with that beer? Thirsty folks in here. If you pull the camera you might be able to fly the Miller but most definitely not the 28 pack of Bud. Good luck.
ed chartrand
Beer makes flying the steadicam more fun. Everything in that picture on a scale is 15-16 pounds, sled, camera, monitor etc. The whole 10 pound max thing confuses me. Premium Members Libor Cevelik Posted August 14, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 14, 2014 "The whole 10 pound max thing confuses me."  No need to be confuse.  10lb for everything above top stage. so if your camera package is 10lb, than the whole sled with monitor and batteries can be 15-16lb.
Premium Members Frederic Sturm Posted August 14, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 14, 2014 Hey Ed, Â nice to see the grip installation worked =) As Libor sais, 10Lbs for everything on the top stage - however on the pilot, that number officially includes any merlin weights you use, too if I remember well. You can bust that limit at times until your arm maxes out without doing any damage, but don't do so regularly. Â Happy Flying =)
Premium Members Jason Leeds Posted August 14, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 14, 2014 You should be good as Libor says. You'll be cutting it close so you might want to further your accessories with one of these: http://www.amazon.com/EZ-Drinker-Guzzler-Helmet-Drinking/dp/B006CUJXMI
ed chartrand
thanks for the reply's. Yes, the grip works great. Easy install. I find since adding the rails and 8 inch monitor, the sled handles better with the arm. Much smoother. Running the Monster Thin HDMI cable down the shaft was a breeze. Oh by the way Jason, just placed that order at Amazon. Edited August 15, 2014 by ed chartrand

I tried to do it with a mini hdmi end and couldn't come close to getting it to fit.
